I heard a wierd noise leaving therapy yesterday.
It started a couple minutes after I filled it with fuel.
Turned out to be the supercharger belt fraying ,the loose tail slapping the crossover tube.
I had no tools to either trim the piece or take the belt off.
I drove it home , carefully in another minute it broke off ,
On its own.
I got about 8K on this belt.
Others have lasted much longer, despite much drag racing.
I was wondering what your experience with belts is.
What brand / type have you been satisfied with ?

Gates Fleet Runner a/k/a Greenback.
I believe Gates has come out with a line of performance belts.
It maybe something other than the belt.

gates fleet runner green ftw. 20k miles on the current one. pulley alignment will play an important roll in belt life. i've even seen wwear on aluminum pulleys from poor belt alignment.
they even came out with some blue ones in the same material just not in our sizes :bigcry:

I can't get over the green color. I'll give up longevity for a nice black belt.
I have a Gates on now and a new Gatorback in my toolbox of spare parts and tools I keep in the trunk. These cars are getting old so a toolbox and some essential spares is a must.

Gates green stripe is the best. Very little stretch.
Gatorback is horrible. Like a rubber band.

Something isn't right if all your getting is 8,000 miles. I put at least 30,000 on a cheap Dayco belt before swapping pulleys and it looked to have another 30,000 left in it.
I'm with Tom on that fugly green. I had it a short time before ditching it and going back to black.. Thump tensioner had no issues keeping it tight.

If you run the green back belt the coating wears off eventually.

The ones I have used just have a thin green stripe. Barely noticeable.

I do have a wobble in the lower pulley hub.
Maybe need to have that balanced better with an adjustment ?
I have a Thump tensioner as well and have not incurred any slipping.
I had a green one at one time , I couldn't care if it was pink , just don't want to deal with maintenance stuff so often.

I'm having a pink one made just for you Brad!
It takes 2 seconds to change the s/c belt, so not sure what the fuss is about. :)

Give it up dude. Seriously, wtf? I can say some things on here but choose to refrain out of respect, even after your nasty phone call, texts and voice text. Don't push it.....
