New shoes for the 64 Merc

Since the tires on the stock 14" wheels were 17 years old on the car we figured we would update the car a little bit. I had the 18" tires already we decided we could utilize them. The result is 18" x 8.5" fronts on a Bridgestone 245/40R18 tire. The rears are 18" x 9.5" with a Bridgestone 275/40R18 tire. The wheels are Vision Torque 143's. I am going to level the back end soon. Enjoy!

Looks nice, but radials that large are going to be awfully hard on those control arm bushings. You might want to inspect those and the ball joints/pitman arm as well. When I went to 235-70-15's on my 69 the car handled great, but the difference between the original bias ply tires and the radials had me changing bushings about every 30k. It might have been the softer tire with more grip...I dunno.

Front end is tight and in good shape. Just did a high point adjustment on the steering box and aligned the car.
