Engine Coolant flush you can do but dont have to.

Engine Oil flush is a no no! I used a can of engine oil flush/cleaner a long time ago on an old car of mine thinking I was helping the engine. Well it did but so well it ate all the sludge that built up around my seals and right after that my car puffed smoke like a train no joke. Learned my lesson real quick.

I just drain the radiator then re-fill it and burp it every few years. Takes about a gallon of 50/50.

OP, you didn't specify oil or coolant...I'm going to assume you meant oil and I agree with Baconbit...if your engine is so neglected that it's sludged up, a "flush" will dislodge material that may clog the oil pickup screen and cause way more damage. If, OTOH, you've been using oil change intervals appropriate for the use the car gets, a flush is unnecessary.

If you're concerned about some possible buildup, just do a couple of oil changes with one of the "high-mileage" oils. They contain an extra dose of detergents and will clean the engine gently and safely.

If your talking about coolant flush. I would go find a fuel filter assembly out of a big truck. One you can attach to the inner fender. Plumb it into one of your heater hoses, and refill the coolant. The filter will clean the cooling system in no time at all. When the heater quits working change the filter.

Rubber, plastic, metal... as long as the stuff that belongs inside stays inside I'm ok with it.

The OEM Flush procedure is very easy.
1) Open trunk
2) Stand on drivers side
3) Reach forward and push down toggle button
4) When you hear the flushing has stopped push toggle button up.

Is there a #1 and #2 flush?

I have use a full synthetic from the first oil change after the break in period.

I change it every 3,000 miles or six months, which ever comes first.
The last time I used a bore scope on the engine, it looked like I had just assembled it.
