I hooked up with a friend of mine last friday night to show him my 2004 MM and he was in his 2000 Camaro SS. He assured me he was gonna blow my doors off just as he did my 97 GM two years ago, in spite of his Goodyear Eagles being bald. ( They weren't that bad )

So we get up to a light and what does he do? He turns off his traction control and when the light turns green, he goes up in smoke and I'm gone in a flash, instant hook-up. He's goin sideways and trying to keep it on the road, does a good job and by that time they're good and hot and then he comes on around me. (I let off at 70)

We went back around for another shot at it and he jumps out about five car lengths and then I'm right with him after that. I don't think his 350 will let him wind it up as high as my DOHC 281.

We dropped off his car and then I took him to Starbucks and there was this young fellah eyballing my Quicksilver and touching it! I started to say something but then noticed the guy was admiring it so we went over and the guy was like "Wow man! Is that your car? Awesome!" He was driving his 2004 Mustang Cobra he'd just bought less than a month ago. A crowd starts to develop and somebody asks what under my hood. Turns out he's a mechanic at the local Ford dealership so he volunteers I'm driving a 4.6L "single overhead cam engine!" I had to correct him.

But I sure did like the look of that supercharger he had on top of his engine. Anybody know off the top of their head what compression that Supercharged Cobra engine is running? I'm thinking if I can run one of those on pump gas (93) old Andy will be in for a real shock next time we run each other. :shot:

Dave, I'm not sure if you already know this or not, but there's a vendor on this board called Trilogy Motorsports, that has their own forum. And they make a complete Supercharger kit specifically, and ONLY for the 03, and 04 Mercury Marauder, that includes with it the Eaton model M112 Eaton Supercharger, which is what the 03, and 04 Ford Cobra comes with from the factory. I'm one of the many members on this board who has installed the Trilogy/Eaton Supercharger on my Marauder, and yes, the thing flies!!! it will turn your car into a 12 second machine, and that Camaro SS will not be able to keep up w/you. Especially if you also buy the Nitto P305/45/18 drag radials that some us have bought. Infact with that set-up, you can also go w/the BFGoodrich drag radials, and you'll get the traction you'll need to leave that Camaro in the dust no problem, unless ofcourse he begins to put a lot of $$ into his car to modify it.Here are two pics of my 03 Marauder w/the Supercharger installed.......

The learning process continues.

I didn't know the blower you mention was what the Cobras were using.

I'm thinking like this, Get out and put a cupfull of bleach on the rears, turn off the traction control, light 'em up, turn the traction control back on and rock'n roll!:cool4:

Anyways, yes, the Trilogy blower is the same as the Cobra's is, however along w/that basic blower, is a complete kit that comes w/hardware for re-locating the alternator (which has to be done on the Marauder engine since the stock alternator location is different than that of the Cobra, a small radiator/cooler, and Supercharger intercooler, intercooler waterpump, bigger fuel injectors, a Kenne Belle Boost-A Pump device to upgrade the fuel pump output, an intake blower flange that sweeps to the driver's side of the engine for the Marauder, instead of to the passenger side like the Cobra's does, and many other critical parts that you would otherwise have to engineer and fabricate yourself in order to get that same Eaton Supercharger to fit and work properly on your Marauder.

And last, but not least, the Trilogy kit includes a special computer chip burned by Lidio himself. To my knowledge Trilogy has sold 42 of these kits now to Marauder owners.

Thanks, cool guy. Now I've got to get some sleep. I saw something on MS/NBC about sleep deprived drivers scoring as bad as drunks on an obstacle course.

I guess it's gonna be Mothers Against Sleep Deprived Drivers now.

Next, open potato chip bag laws. How much jail time for a DWE.

Make it stop!
