Okay peolple. I'm going to attempt here to provide you with the lesser of the two video clips that a friend of mine took of me going crazy w/my Marauder in my workplace parking lot after I installed my Supercharger. The following is from a dead punch......no brake pedal being used here...
...if you can't open the file merely by clicking on this media window below, then you'll have to right click on it, and click the "save target as.." and then you can watch it after downloading it. Let me know if you guys can see the video. I'm sorry that the audio isn't what it should be.

Okay peolple. As most of you already have probably figured out by now, a computer wiz I'm not. But I'm going to attempt here to provide you with the lesser of the two video clips that a friend of mine took of me going crazy w/my Marauder in my workplace parking lot after I installed my Supercharger. I haven't been able to find a way to get the second video on this board in a file type that yields a decent video picture. Too bad, because that is an even better than this one is. But the following is from a dead punch......no brake pedal being used here...

Thanks,

HeY BillyGman how's it feel to to drive that "BAD CAT" How many runs can u make like that on the rear skins? :bows: :bows: :bows: :bows: :bows:I luv driving it. Sometimes I luv it too much. I have to be careful that I don't get into trouble w/it. W/the Kooks exhaust on her, not too many people challenge me though. That's why I was pleasantly surprised that the Cady XLR did last week. Man did I burn him!!
It just so happens that I'm about to put some new tires on, so I didn't care about burning up those stock tires. I can do a number of burnouts like that one, and I already have, but I wish I can show you the one I did which I cannot get this site to upload. It was a brake Torque, and it was so hairy that it left my tires bald!!!!
I wish you other guys could download it. Bradley must be doing somethig right. Maybe he and Paul Casey know something that the rest of us don't.
Hey Paul, just let me know what day you'll be passing through CT again. If it's on a weekday, then that's okay too.

Thanks for thefeedback Kathy. One thing though. What if you have both real player, and windows media player loaded in your PC, but every time you click on a video clip, windows media tries to play it? How do you get Real player, quicktime player, or something else to play the clip instead of Windows?

Hmmmm.....good question............(???????). .....I have both on mine too, but when I clicked on your media clip, Real Player automatically popped up and played the clip.
Not sure.....I'll see if I can figure it out and post a message....

Okay. Thanks anyway. I'm glad you liked the clip. If I ever figure out how to get the other clip on here, you're in for an even better treat. But I think that's a BIG "if" since I've been trying for the past week now, and I just haven't found a way.

Whenever you double-click a file to open it, Windows hands it off to whatever program is set to handle that file type by default, in this case a mpeg file. Say the default program is set to Media Player. If you want to play the video in Quicktime, Realplayer, etc., you can open that program and drag video file you want to play into it.
If you want to set another program to handle that file type by default, you can go into that programs preferences and set them accordingly.
For example, to have Realplayer play mpeg's by default instead of Media Player, in Realplayer go to Tools: Preferences:Content:Media Types, and select MPEG/AVI.
Hope this helps.

My Quicktime player plays it perfectly. Windows Media has problems with too many videos. MPEG is an industry standard for video playback and it's a shame that Microsofts poor software can't play the content. However, Quicktime is a free download :)

You should be able to right click on the ".mpg" file and get an "Open With" menu. If you select Real Player, then it will use that to open all MPG files. I think that I said that right. Hope it works.
Oh, by the way, great clip Billy ... the sould was OK too !!!

Yeah!!! I agree fully-- I personnally have Dennis Reinharts # 7 -- A vortec Model V-2 --which is super---
I had the lucky opportunity to have the ability to test drive both the vortec and the roots before I choose-- I drove Bob Mathis car , a roots in Alt in Nov, last yeat , then Sarge's Vortec and then Dennis's new '04 Vortec-
I'll tell you--The roots definiately gets the lower RPM torque and spins the wheels from the dead stop /start-- but that is not what I wanted--
I wanted a grip that would grap quickly without spinning so much and then get with the program---that is what a Vortec does-- get in the power band a few seconds later, thus giving you an opportunity to gather in you thoughts before you really decide what you want to do ---- I found a roots a bit too quick before I needed it--- since it will be a street car with challenges- I though it best to have an opportunity to gather in my car rather than have it spin all over the area in my excitement...oh well..to each his own I say-- ( Sure alot of others will speak up )..But that is what this is all about --everyone opinion....
And furthermore...I say--you should try and drive both and decide then what you'll be doing with the car the most that will serve your needs more often----each has it's own rewards...good luck.....Tom
I personnally did not want to spin my tires alot from a dead stop--...but again--too each his own.....good luck.........Tom

yes, I agree, that the ideal thing is to drive Marauders that have the Trilogy set-up and the Reinhart, and then you can choose for yourself. However, many of us don't have the Luxury of even living close to someone of either camp let alone being able to drive both. And some of us don't want to wait a good part of the year until there's a big get together like there will be in July to see both types of cars.
So therefore many people on here simply have to do their homework as much as they can and simply make a decision from there. I'll never knock anyone for getting a centrifugal S/Cer even though I like the roots type myself. The desicion is up to the individual, and I have no personal nor financial interests in any S/Cer company nor in any vendor. I'll befriend a Kenny Brown car owner, or one who had a Reinhart S/Cer just as quick as I would a Trilogy car owner. I don't take sides on this as far as what people decide to do for THEIR car. I simply share my opinion, and how I feel about both types of set-ups, and explain why I like one better than the other, and let others decide from there what it is that THEY want to do.
As far as the greater loss of traction being with the Trilogy equipped car, that's what getting drag radials is for, which will take care of a lot of that, and if worse comes to worse, you don't have to step on the pedal all the way to the floor until you get to about 20 MPH if you don't want to anyway, and you can still take advantage of the awesome mid-range torque that the roots type blower churns out.
But it also depends to a certain extent what rear end gears you decide on as well. But I agree, that to each his own.

That does it, I've had enough. No more talking about it I'm just gonna get it. I only have one question..
Can the T/C system control this kind of torque?
Make that two or three...
The T/C system uses the brakes and if that's not enough, backs off the engines power until spin is controlled. Q1:Is the T/C system using the input from the front wheel speed sensors on non-braking wheel spin events, like the burnout event we just saw? Mines doing an excellent job stock so I suspect it is. Therefore, Q2:With the Trilogy kit, does the PCM still have control over engine power when T/C is on?
I'm thinking, T/C off, heat up the meat, T/C back on and roll up to the light for a serious rocket-car-on-a-rail smokeless launch that will leave those poor Camaros, Firebirds, and GTOs scratching their heads.:shot:

I don't have traction control on my car, and I didn't want it anyway. before a race or a burnout, I think it would be best to turn it off if you do have it. You wouldn't want the car brakes going on when you're trying to get the car to take off quick. if you sart to get wheel spin and you don't want it, then back of of the throttle a little until the tires grab, and the next time around you'll also have a better idea of how much of the gas pedal your tires can handle coming off the line w/out spinning.
There's simply a little bit of skill involved, and some minor practice. You can also get better tires like some peralli P-Zero's which are softer rubber, or better yet drag radials, and they will handle more throttle w/out spinning. Forget the traction control for the dry pavement. you don't want to use it.

Dif'rent strokes they say. I've been very impressed with my T/C. Many times I've stabbed the throttle making a bumpy right turn, or when sitting on that oily slick at the light on older roads and was like, "Hey, are we feeling a little under the weather baby?" and then, "Oh wait, that's right. You're giving me everything you've got right up to the moment traction starts to give out." Better tires will only make a good thing better and nobody will ever be able to react faster than that PCM. Pedal to the metal and let the computer worry about when and how much to let off.
If you never had T/C on a RWD car, you don't know what you're missing. It launches perfectly every time. Just like at the OK Corral.
EARP, VROOOOOOOOM.
I love it.

I did have a car w/traction control, and I hated it. It was a Mercury Grand Marquis. And if ever I wanted to play and get the tires spinning, it wouldn't allow me to do that. I had no way of turning it off though since it was a 94. I still say soft tires like drag radials w/out the T/C would be the best for hi-perf driving. You don't see any drag cars running T/C no matter how hi-tech they are.

HeY BillyGman do the tires grip better the balder they git ? Or once they get too thin it's probably unsafe to shread em any more:burnout: Thanks for the postI'm glad you got to see the video Brad. These tires are now bald, and they don't grip the road much at all anymore. Especially in the rain!!! I need to get those drag radials that I have sitting in the garage on this car before the steel belts start poking through!!! After performing that burnout that was better than this one, there was nothing left of the tires:eek:
I've been trying to get that other video on here, but the site keeps telling me that it can't be uploaded since it's an invalid file type. This site won't accept it. I've purchased software that allows you to convert the file into others that are supposed to be compatible for internet viewing and desktop viewing, but the only file type that I've found for it to work on here leaves the video quality so poor that the contrast of the picture is terrible. I had it in the gallery for a couple days, and Marty and Jimmy both saw it, but I deleted it because the picture was so bad.

The traction control on a MM has no problem with a Trilogy blower installed. Although I always recommend turning the T/C off when driving spiritedly.
Thanks
