Hey all,

I am driving my Marauder from the bay area to reno next week. For a work training seminar. And might end up needing snow chains/cables... would prefer the cables for obvious reasons. However im having trouble finding a set for 18" rims.. Has anybody used something like this on their marauder that they could recommend? Im looking for something I can go buy at a brick and mortar store. Thanks!

Why drive your MM when you have a CV if there is a chance of snow in the mountains?

I'd swap the Vic rims on the mm and get cables.

not a great time of year to look for snow cables. cables are pretty much tire size specific. so ginding 245-55-18 in stock locally, hmmm. Do what 2mercs said, put vic wheels on

Maybe you should rent something with 4 wheel drive and put it on your expense account. This would get you there and back safely. It's also a subtle way of finding out if your boss cares one way or another if there is a risk of losing you.

I was going to suggest the same thing. Renting a car isn't that much compared to buying a set of snow chains. The savings in fuel plus buying the chains should make it close to even.

Rent a car buy their damage waiver, over the years the difference between your insurance and the damage waiver has widened considerably.

So much so I have changed my stance to buying their damage waiver.:mad2:

Renting a car under 25= huge deposit right off the bat.

Thanks for the offer bro.. However I just got back and all I can say is the drive was INCREDIBLE! call me a dumb ass but I went without chains. And was fine. zero snow besides some rain on my way up. Car did phenomenal :D

I never get the damage waiver but never to your veiw point, will make me think again next time.

I hate insurance, life, disability, house, car, collectors insurance. Its just a nasty way of making us honest people bet against ourselves. I HATE it:mad2:

Inever use it and then when I do (if I do) my fees go way up
