Two noises I'd liek help with:

1) When the moonroof is closed, I hear an air whistling sound that mostly disappears when I close the sunshade. Is the seal just getting worn? Can it be replaced?

2) When the roof is fully opened (not just tilted up) The plastic air dam/spoiler thing vibrates at speeds above 40 mph causing an annoying resonance inside the car. If i simply put my hand on the air dam, the vibration goes away. Has anyone else experienced this and how can I fix it?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

I own two 2004 Marauders with original sunroofs but no problems. I clean the tracks with paper towel, cloth and cotton to remove dirt and water from pinpoint hose nozzle. The track and rubber seal/gasket should be clean. Silicone spray is then applied after all cleaning is completed. Does you glass roof close flush top and even all the way around? I have more information which I pulled from a ford thunderbird website. I suggest you start there. Adjustsment can be made but I have no experience. :D

The adjustments for the glass should be two T20 Torx screws on each side easily accessible with it closed.

I just dropped my '04 F150's unit a couple of days ago and rebuilt it with a kit off eBay. I can't see much difference if any in the sunroofs. FWI Most parts are plastic for the guide rails everyone of mine were cracked and missing pieces.. Getting about the age gents!

Any help is greatly appreciated! We roll up a microfiber cloth and stick it under the air dam. Keeps it from vibrating, just need to remember to remove it on closing. Also wondering about a fix.

INFO: the sunroof was originally manufactured under the company name ASC/Inalfa. The company is now known as Signature Auto Products.

Not to long ago I was researching information about the Moonroof as I wanted to install one in my Silver Birch. At that time I came across the following documents. The documents should help in troubleshooting and Service of the Moonroof.

Note: The sunroof originally installed in Marauders is Model 840 in these guides..

Service Manual:

Come do my '03 F150. I've been too lazy to mess with it on my beater truck.

Come do my '03 F150. I've been too lazy to mess with it on my beater truck.

I was lazy too and after almost a year and a half I finally did it..

Helpful hint: steering wheel up, shifter in low (if a floor shift), set hole in headliner for switches/light around shifter. Turn unit 90* and work it out the passenger side front door.

It took a few tries to find a routing but I was determined to not remove my cap and rear window on top of starting on this with daylight all but gone and the garage tied up with other stuff.. Guts swapped on saw horses and reinstalled in the dark with a nice work light and still managed a 2 1/2-3 hr turn around. I REALLY enjoyed having it back for the trip down to Louisville the next morning!
