Gordon (WPG_Merc) is checked in to his new room waiting for Monday's ordeal.

Started this thread so he can keep everyone updated as to what happens and we all can cheer him up and help out if need be.

Good luck Gordo!

Not even sure what to say here.

When a car is dropped off on a Thursday morning with a heads up on Wednesday afternoon and you aren't given any concrete updates until 5:15pm on Friday and anyone with any real answers is supposedly gone until Monday well..........

His original transmission shop did not do him any favors having him send the car to where it currently sits imho.

unfortunately it can be a shot in the dark when out of state and you have minimal or no local recommendations. I hope in the end it turns out ok for him.

Snapped the intermediate shaft on the way to one of the functions.

Jerry keeps 3 of those in the trunk of whipple car, and supporting tools.

Update
The MM should be ready Tuesday at noon.
For $2,300 💰💰
If I get the stamped input drum for $125 to $150
It will be ready Monday but it may break later when adding
more power to it causing bigger damage.

I opted for the forged billet drum $400 but will take till tues to order one in.
& is a much stronger hopefully durable part.
The converter is good.
The trans was rebuilt almost 2 years ago but looks like with none forged parts. 😐

A Big thanks to the Marauder family for support & still had a
great time with awesome people in Louisville. 🍻🍻

Snapped the intermediate shaft on the way to one of the functions.

I looked for this part and couldn't find it in the illustrated parts breakdown.

Car Tech Books.com states that there is only one input shaft. The 4R70 did away with a primary and intermediate shafts. But what do I know, I was just curious about the problem.

Maybe someone can clarify this.

Spoke to Gord for a few hours and I really hope this gets fixed once and for all. He's one of the biggest Marauder enthusiast I've ever had the chance to talk to. He deserves the best and I will pray the Marauder God's shine down on his Marauder and bless it. :bows:

after several days of getting jerked around imho he should be up and running today. if you're ever broke down in louisville i can tell you where NOT to go. tracking number reads they should have the stub shaft in their hands today. i asked the guy if when they do the test drive if they could pick gordon up from the hotel which is only 3 miles down the road and you guessed it, they said no........................

This town is stuck between backwoods hell and big city attitude. I go outside of Louisville to trusted mechanics for my trans repair.

Interesting perspective, I sensed that but overall enjoyed the people and the city. Could see my self living there. I just wish we knew quicker for Gordon a place to go. But even with that said, ones experience with a mechanic isn't always the same as the next person's.

I've been dealing with Ford auto's since 2000. I've used every chain shop and some dealers and found they will all screw you at the first chance. For some reason people here are scared to death of transmissions and the shops here take advantage of that.

I would have just put it on a trailer and hauled it up to Jerry's guy, he keeps stub shafts in stock for Jerry.

Why do you think I drive to Michigan. Not only could this place not fix a bloody moon roof they couldn't even diagnose the issues I was having with the car when I first bought it...:(:(:(

I could have gone and picked the car up and dropped it at a reputable shop, I'm not that far away.

You guys don't understand the time frame we're working with.
8am- Drink coffee, read paper, watch news
9am- Drink coffee, go to bathroom, order parts for last week's cars
10am- Drink coffee, think about lunch, order KY Lube for "assembly purposes"
11am- Drink coffee, think more about lunch, watch clouds in the sky
12pm- Eat lunch, talk about old days with Uncle Brother Pappy, Look at trans on bench from window
1pm- Digest lunch, complain about weather, kick trans around shop
2pm- Drink coffee, get tools out, talk about repairing trans
3pm- Clean tools, go to bathroom, look at clouds again
4pm- Work on trans, drink coffee, look at clouds
4:30pm- Put tools away, go home.
5pm- Drink beer.

Well he's on the road. F'er never gave me an update.
So I went online and found a $50 coupon on their website for first time customers. I had Gordo print that out and take it with him I'd love to have been there when he pulled it out.

Let the shenanigans begin.......

It would have been quicker for him to take a community college transmission rebuilding class and then rebuild it himself. Glad the car is put back together though.

His luck the trans would grenade and warranty voided for "improper use"

Which I really don't get. It's not like you can improperly push the go pedal past the floor. [emoji16]
