Anyone ever upgrade their heat exchangers that came with the trilogy kits to any aftermarket options? If so were their positive results etc. Thinking about doing this.

Got some part numbers or links to look at? Any bracket modifications needed etc?

A lot of us have upgraded to this one from frozenboost.com:

You will have to make new brackets for it.

Had to manufacturer every part, nothing was a direct bolt on, my trans cooler is in the grill opening, heat exchanger in the lower, screened in, with a set of brackets that had to be manufactured, KC is mounted on the front right frame rail at the front, once again, had to make brackets to make it "nice".

This one looks very thin definitely helps with installation. May consider this one.

Got any pics of the brackets you made?

I have an afco dual pass I'm going to use on my car from a 03/4 cobra. Its considerably longer and thicker than the trilogy one. In order to get it to fit behind the grill I'm going to have to trim the header panel. I want as much air flow on it as possible so I'm going to try to avoid mounting it in bumper opening. I'm going to have the fittings cut off the heat exchanger and upgraded to run 1" hoses to everything. Although the size of that frozen boost cooler is nice, the 1/2" inlet fittings are smaller than stock leaves a lot on the table with being able to circulate the water. There is also a mod for the intercooler under the blower to accept 1" lines as well. The company that does it claims it can handle the heat from a 4.0 whipple. I'm building this set up in hopes to hot lap the car without it burning up.

The OEM Lightning (not aftermarket, only OEM will fit) heat exchanger fits perfectly behind the grille.

Is it an upgrade over the 03/04 Cobra? My HE was damaged when a guy backed into the front of my car and I'd like to upgrade.

Yes, it is bigger than the Cobra. Not sure if it is available brand new these days, but since so many people upgrade to a larger aftermarket unit you should be able to find a good used OEM one.

If your HE isn't already at the bottom and don't mind making your own brackets, the 13/14 GT500 HE aren't to expensive though they are larger.
