So, last year i started throwing the light. It seemed like i would start it, i would hear the system run and then the light would come on. thought it was the pump. So i turned the system off the ran it like that. the car sat up real nice so i know the shocks werent leaking.

currently we swapped out the pump and during that lost most of the air that was in the system and it hasnt reinflated. the only symptom i can find is that I turn the car on and I hear " tick tick tick tick " from the rear of the car for about 40 secs or so and then the light will come on and the tick stops.. Any thoughts? is my problem with a solenoid? I dont know all the parts that this system is made up of so any insight would be helpful. I checked the fuse and the relay and both are fine.

Does the compressor ever run?
Have you checked the ride height switch to see if the ball snapped off the switch?
Owners manual should show you which relay is for the compressor, have you swapped relays yet?

Check the negative battery cable and make sure all the leads have a good ground.........,

Fill us in on what you find

yeah i checked the relay yesterday (303). i'm leaning towards the compressor after reading a bunch of threads today. the old compressor seemed to run too much. i dont think the used one has run at all. i need to manually inflate the lines to get the car off the ground. the ride is garbage right now. next time i get it to my dads shop i'll throw it up on the lift and check the ride height switch.

On the compressor plug. 2 of the wires go directly to the compressor motor

Unplug that connector and on the motor side
Put 12 volts to it and a ground
See if the motor works. That would be a easy check

On 3 of my cars you shut the last door, then the car lowers
Every time I start up a marauder the air compressor comes on to replace that last expelled air

Pack 3 fat guys in the car and it airs up even more....

the car sat up real nice so i know the shocks werent leaking. For the record, our cars don't have air shocks, they have air springs. Also, shocks have nothing to do with ride height.

Having said that, this link (http://www.lincolnsonline.com/tech/00061.html) may help.

Air shocks back inthe day were cool. They would give your muscle car that rake

I have recently seen a 02 vic sport pancake in the rear due to bad ground right off the baterry.

Hope it's a ez fix

air shocks is just one of those terms that gets used loosely. i know all too well they are springs right now. its like driving a pogo stick. if i can't accurately diagnose the system i might just abandon it for the time being. its not my weekend car, its my daily so i need it to be on the road driving, not laying frame lol.

Ride height sensor moves freely.

We plugged the original pump back in...it runs for 5-10 secs...shuts off..light goes on.

Maunual inflate isnt working either. Compressor starts we blow the air in...nothing. no movement...at all.

Sounds like the air spring solenoids are not opening for whatever reason.

I had the RAS/EVO module fail in The Blackbird over one winter and it jacked the car up all the way. The compressor ran until the battery went dead.

thanks for the advice, i will look into that. its behind the glove box, correct? i will also check the fuses for it.
