Just wanted to say kudos to the members of mercurymarauder.net.
My son (Riley) who many have met, bought his MM(mm svt) at a used car lot. After his purchase the previous owners identify was found. It was suggested that he contact that person and ask what he had done to the car. Prior to Rileys purchase the car had kooks LT headers, 410 rear gears, 98 intake cams and the jmod to the tranny.
When Riley talked to the previous owner he was regretting about his car he traded in for a Focus. Needless to say he was still happy to talk about it and offered up somethings he still had, spare tire, oil gauge (getting to the point) SCT tuner and zacks head cooling mod. The kooks were on it before he got it, he did the rear gear, cams and transmission repair w/jmod.
He was a member here and the same people guided him to make the best of his MM. The tuner he had was from Brenspeed a shop in Indiana but the tune on it was MOs. (Riley had made the same mistake with his first car a 99 CVPI we built the engine N/A still has a crap tune). He mentioned this site and MOs remote tune. A second kudos to all.
Riley got his MM in October so he had two months to enjoy it before the snow flew. We were snow bound talking about reading posts on Mm.net one morning and we were both like a trilogy would be awesome. Not just Awesome but extinct was more like it. Searching eBay for trilogy this and that wasnt getting anywhere but eaton swap kits for early mustangs and 03 mach1 were available. It was also coincidental that we had just sold a land & sea water brake dynamometer on eBay and had some money in our PayPal account but while watching a eaton swap kit tick away for the auction a what the heck moment came across and bam auction was over, he hit the buy it now button.
Frank the eBay seller was risky but still doing his thing and posting kits. The timing cover was broken lower passenger corner, I mean broke to, I stopped payment with PayPal and Frank bought one I was watching on eBay and sent it to us payment released everyone happy again
This was a just a strange time frame that Jerry's cot wasn't out yet the brackets were being discussed I'm not sure but we just jumped in feet first and had the kit. It was already the end of January with the swap parts, gaskets, timing components we each went different directions Riley started removing intake tubes, wiring, injectors, and both intakes, I drained the radiator, removed hoses and belt plus getting started cleaning the swap parts. I remember signing up for mm.net when we actually started the tear down thinking of a screen name we had cobrauder, maraudebra but decided the car was going to be a MM SVT when we got done so that's where that came from. Everything comes apart and goes back together well, questions start coming up about the electrical modifications and were led to the trilogy installation PDF on line, the answer to all those questions in one (kudos #3). MM SVT was born and ready for the trip to MOs (twenty eight days later). That was three years ago. We all know you can't take them with you when you go to heaven but the MM.net family will be here to help keep the passion everyone here shares. Kudos you all rock

So how's it running? Enjoying the manual? It changes the whole feel of the car... I know mine almost feels like a chubby ballerina that outperforms most all others on the dance floor. [emoji6]

Been running nice, I think it's running 2600 rpm at 90 mph in sixth, on for some reason all videos I try to post are bumped back I even tried shorting them still no go. The boot and bezel is all that's left on the inside. I was trying to see your boot, Talked to a leather crafter and he's busy, thought to seek out someone in Colorado while there next week.

I'm not sure if anyone is aware of the Lane Automotive car show this weekend in Watervale MI

We are gonna be there with friends from the local car club, it's a big meet.
Then rolling to MOs for tuesday dyno tune then to Golden CO. For a huge car meet next weekend.

Thanks Bob, you definitely helped out with your write up of your build. While we didn't fab a new cross member I think the t56 helped the ease of swapping. Like the drive shaft staying the same length we changed the yoke to a sonnik billet one and had the driveshaft balanced. The transmission mount from the auto fit the manual, the center line from the bottom of the mount the center of the output shaft was identical ( the reason for only modifications to the cross member). We both took photos and Riley made several post to his instagram. The build thread didn't seem quite necessary as disassembled engine pictures are not uncommon here but some small gremlin type things that remind you to stay attentive during the build.
We found a ball inside the crank snout, I thought it was from the balance job but the shop said no.
Cleaning out all the bolt holes,

Home made thread chasers, definitely a must make or purchase be sure to use them. The machine shop had the head studs for the plates and said one of the holes felt weird, so before assembly we did all the holes and found RTV at the bottom of most.
We discovered that the marauder oil pick up tube is marauder specific, tried using a replacement one the needed altered and then still got in the way of the pan so that got removed and we had to change the pick up tube stand to a different main cap, not difficult but I bet that's been discussed here before but not sure.
Hope some of the marauders can make the drive to Lane Auto this Saturday, we would like to meet as many members as possible. Thanks again everyone.

Yep, us too, it's mind boggling to comprehend how dedicated the group here is and how mm.net was created when the Marauder was. Amazing!

Geez I read the last couple of lines in your OP and thought someone died. Glad to see it's about a build and you are having a blast with the car.

My boot is from a '12 GT500. Originally I just trimmed the four corners of the plastic on the underside back and it snapped perfectly into the counsel. Later on I undermounted it with screws thru this bezel.

I also bought a 3" shifter extension and modified it to about an 1 1/2" tall to get the handle closer to the stock height of the auto.

Glad the write up helped even if only a little. [emoji1303]
