Today's the day! I have everything for my eaton swap, and going to attempt to have it done this weekend, or carry it over to next weekend. Super excited!!
Here's a few pictures. I'll upload and add more as I go.
Any help or advise would be awesome!
Pretty ambitious timeline

get a killer chiller, arizona heat, a eaton "heaton". look up kincaid performance, they are right in New Mexico. we use the 03/04 cobra kit but with a bracket change for marauder which they know if yku tell them a marauder.

It would probably take me a month anymore to do an eaton swap due to lack of ambition and all the breaks and walking away lack of ambition demands out of me.
Hell it takes almost a year anymore to fully detail the car in and out! Totally not kidding.

I will put that on my wish list. Thank you for the referral!
I work on everyone's cars minus my own so I thought I'd take a few days off work and get it done finally. Plus one close friend of mine wanted to help so not like I'm alone.
Although the excitement is through the roof!

Let me know how that goes! I'd be interested in seeing pictures of how it's setup. Haven't looked much into the chiller system so I have very minimal ideas how it gets installed.
Edit: I have TR6 plugs, what should they be gapped to? Currently out of the box they are at .0.37

Hi Rafael,
While on the dyno the tuner had the a/c on to operate the killer chiller until he was ready for the pull then he shut off the a/c. The IAT stayed at 90* on back to back pulls and that was at 98% humidity and high outside temp.
Rafael

Good to know! Thank you for more insight on the killer! Here's a progress update picture.

I'm not installing the KC, MO's speed shop is. Riley (mm svt) installed his so he might be able to offer some info. It uses your a/c system to cool the intercooler fluid so it helps cool the air charge as it passes thru. Pretty much when air charge temps get close to 140 degrees, your tune will pull timing so you will get less power and you should not run hard while your air charge temps are up high.

A few more update pictures. Still playing around with mounting the heat exchanger. Getting really close to wrapping up the project!
Extended all the wiring harness from one side to the other. Mocked up the heat exchanger, and almost have the drive belt assembly all togther. I have to figure out small little odds and ends tomorrow but hopefully she will see some run time very soon! IM SUPER EXCITED!!!

Small odds and ends makes the job fun. Just time consuming.
Are you using the stock COT set up? If so, the copper tee I've done a couple of times works slick! Perfect size in all directions. IIRC the tee used is an 1 1/2" X 1 1/4" (but measure to verify) with short pieces soldered in all thee ends with a very small flare on the ends to keep the hose from sliding. Either bent with channel locks or use of an anvil like I do. Just not so much that it would cut a hose over time. Then paint it black.

I bought one of Jerry's Cots so it's gonna be an easier swap. But thank you for the information! Might help someone else out.
Today I knocked out most everything that was small out of the way.
What's left is,
Finishing the battery wiring
Bolting down the COT
Installing the SC belt
Making a bracket for the fuse box
Installing the vacuum lines, and boost gauge
Then bolting on the fans/ other normal stuff back on.
I'm so close to having it fire up!! Super excited!!!! Almost hit my deadline of having it done this weekend, but I sure tried! Honestly I was a little intimidated by the swap but quickly figured out it's not rocket science. Plus months and months of reading Info about it, threads, and such helped too.
Here's a few more pictures.

Rafael, as far as relocating the fuse box, we were able to use the bracket on there just reposition the ones from the car. Kind of just fit together on its own. Taking a break usually opens your eyes better the next day.

Run into more than a few problems.
Alternator had to be replaced and now it's still not charging the battery. I'm in the proscces of checking all the wiring again.
And now the car doesn't start. Keeps cranking and my door locks don't work. So I'm assuming PATS is the culprit.
justbob
06-17-2017, 02:43 PM
Probably the wrong alternator as most places don't realize it's a PCM controlled one specific to the Marauder or their computers don't know any better.
As for the locks, the car does really odd things when a battery isn't fully charged. If it were a PATS issue it would have done this immediately.
Also PATS gives a no crank.

Marty gave me some advice on the Alt. He said to go with an 01 cobra alt. So I will try that. I've checked all the wiring and the only wire I see not getting signal is the yellow/ light green. Which controls a signal/ monitor. Everything else has 12.6 volts or more. So I will swap and see what happens.
As for the pats, Marty disabled it and I got the car to run temporarily. I found that the areomotive 340lph pump decided to not pump enough fuel to the rails now. So I will be dropping the tank, and getting this one warrantied out.
So that's my biggest issues now, hopefully I can get it straightened out soon. Tired of the car taking up all my time now.
Hopefully I can figure out why none of my door locks work anymore either. I'm gonna guess it's the Door Control module on the driver door that isn't working.... I'll cross that bridge after I get the bigger issues fixed.

You may have older brackets that are anodized on the ends. You need to sand off the anodization where the bracket bolts to the timing cover studs

Well from today's findings there's absolutely no fuel pressure at the rails but the pump seems to be working. Fuel filter is new, and nothing looks kinked. So I'm gonna assume the pump is no good.
I'll look into the BAP if it really needs it.

I had this issue on my alt. The light came on but it was actually charging. As others said, it was the wrong alternator. Gotta have a marauder specific one and most places will throw you a G.m. Mach, cobra alt as they use the same everything other than voltage regulator.

Quick test with a voltmeter hooked to the battery. Grab a piece of 10 awg wire and put it on the negative terminal, take the other end and smash it against the alternator case and see if your voltage goes up. Congratulations on the install. You are finding out all the small things that go into these swaps. Best of luck getting them all sorted out, it is definitely worth it.

I ran a battery cable from the alternator to the frame to get around the anodizing issue. Use the threaded hole where it used to bolt up to the bracket.

Update, I got the car to start up and run for awhile. Looks like my problem was the voltage going to the pump wasn't enough. 11.8 voltage from the alt wasn't enough to keep it alive. I've come to the conclusion after case grounding and trying everything you guys have told me that the alternator itself is bad. So replacement is on its way tomorrow.

Another thing gone wrong lol almost starting to regret the swap This time I swapped the bad fuel pump out (areomotive 340lph) as the last one started only pushing 2 pounds of fuel pressure... and now I'm not getting any fuel at the rails but I can hear the pump priming. I replaced the fuel filter, and found myself getting very little fuel at the line leading to the fuel filter.
Now, I have pressure but very little before the fuel filter, and none at the rails. Anyone have ideas on what it can be? Voltage to the pump seems fine at 12.8 or more. Stuck and clueless at this point.

06-23-2017, 05:54 AM
Did you replace you fuel pressure regulator,? Or possibly jump the plug and check flow, also try a long jumper to fuel pump positive feed, try a third pump, the trilogy manual is on line and will help in wire locations and colors coming from the fuel pump driver in the trunk.

Some fuel lines are ok for external use but swell up and turn to goo when submerged. Worm gear style hose clamps can eat into the lines and cause leaks. Some people have removed the PPRV and regretted it.
Myself, I reused the OEM lines. A real PITA, but I was determined. And the full circle hose clamps like on power steering hoses.

With the massive amount of help from Marty I've finally got her running again! Alternator was bad off the shelf, went and got a replacement and fixed my voltage/ charging problem. As for the fuel issue... the first pump crapped out, the second one destroyed the in tank check valve. I cleaned the tank all out and put it togther. Fixed a few little things here and there.
Also the FPDM was shot, and replaced it with a extra Grand Marquise unit from a buddy.

It's awesome your done but it's wrong items are faulty off the shelf. We encountered several idler pulleys that if the average person were to replace that part and the problem still existed or got worse would try something else. Doesn't hurt to always inspect/test new and rebuilt items. I do and still get burned on starters (local parts stores), fuel pumps (aero mostly), moog a-arms and ball joints and the list doesn't stop in the automotive fields. We get defective adhesives, thread compounds, thread locker all that have frozen. It's not difficult to be very attentive to every detail but it is time consuming but the cost of not catching it is the worst.

I had a friend come over, I fell asleep, and he took the car without me knowing to "grab food".... long story short he destroyed the motor.... floated a valve, head gasket, pretty sure rods are gone too.
I haven't tore down the block yet, but will soon. I'll be doing a complete forged bottom end at this point since there's no return I might as well go all out.

This isn't in anyway joking. I legitimately had got off the phone with Marty and discussed the temps in IAT in the car while tuning so we left off with me throwing a bag of ice on it to cool down for a few hours...
Drove my car home, threw the bag of ice on the Heaton, had a friend come over to help me with my pumping in my kitchen. After about 4 hours I was feeling exhausted and told him I was taking a quick hour or two nap. Now this was a close friend of mine who's justification was "I went to grab food but your car was in the way, and since you were heavily asleep I didn't want to wake you to move it. So I took it to grab food. I didn't know it was in such a sensitive area with the motor... I will help with expenses as much as I can"
So far he has only had small talk with me, nothing more. Honestly I went off on him when I found out, especially since he was across town on the side of the road and calling me to get a tow truck to pick up my own car... I'm still not even close to being happy with his lack of judgement on anything he did.

I could say some are just ignorant of the total lack of any mechanical know how among the majority of those under 30.
What percent of those under 30 can change a flat tire? Maybe 2%.
I have had discussions with several shop owners who cannot hire anyone under 30 because they have no mechanical skills and no concept of basic mechanics.
It is largely an electronic world. By they way ask them where electricity comes from?

Went with Manley rods/ pistons and total seal rings and cobra crank. Decided the bottom end might as well be built the proper way this time.
I also have comp cams, springs, retainers, and new rockers. Going to replace timing components while it's apart too.
Spent the extra coin and bought ARP head bolts, cap bolts, and cam bolts. Once it's back from the machine shop I'll have pictures! Excited to say the least!!!!!! Throwing in my higher stall while the engine is out too. I'll be happy if I hit 500rwhp or come close at this point. Don't see myself going much more than that for awhile.

Good thing the one who broke the car has decent sized pockets... he agreed to pay for machine work, the rotating assembly and cams.

Well he avoided me for a few days because he thought I was gonna be irrational about the situation. I'm just glad he manned up and told me what he would pay for.

Nothing really makes it right just a little better. Time you just spent working on it and now you have to make time to do even more.

There's a slight difference between your incompetent friend coming over and breaking your stuff instead of you going to someone who you thought was competent, and ends up breaking your stuff.

I'm just happy he came through and paid for what he said he would. Lesson learned, no more friends driving my car.

Updated Pictures coming soon! Happy how this has turned out. Now just need to save up for SW LT Headers, and finish painting a few more things.

After reviewing all the posts here, I decided to make up my own wiring schematic using the cobra IAT2 in it's stock position. I would like to have some of the experts confirm my schematic is correct.
See attached picture.
Thanks in advance

I hit a road block with some medical stuff with family. Car is still sitting at my dealership. Block is done, only thing not assembled is the heads which are sitting on my work bench. Sadly I lost the motivation to work on it for a bit, and finally started getting back into it a few weeks ago.
I'll upload pictures once the build is done. hoping for next month at my current rate.

She's alive! I'll type up a list of all that was done to the motor.
Ran into a few hiccups which I'll fix tomorrow when I get back to the dealership but I'm happy to report back and say she's alive
Here's a few pics.

Thought I’d revive this old thread. Here’s the car today. Lots has been changed since I did the Eaton a year ago. Also, went through a motor, and tons of other work. Ill post a build list after marty and I have the car fully tuned and have a dyno sheet to post.
These are the most recent pictures I have from a few weeks ago. I’ll try grabbing more recent ones tomorrow as everything looks tidy and neat.
