I purchased Addco Front and rear bars 11 years ago. Now I need new bushings so I called Addco and they asked for part number. I thought there was only 1 that fit our cars. I purchased them from DR. Anyone have the part number of the bars he offered?

there are solid and hollow ones which are bigger in dia. thus the part number difference

Most likely you have solid ones.

650 - rear 1"dia bar

Personally I'd go with greasable Energy Suspension bushings.
Greaseable Sway Bar Bushings - Energy Suspensions
Front – 9.5165 or 9.5172
Rear – 9.5161 - you will need to do some fabing to get these to work.
Front Swaybar End links:
Moog - K80140 - greasable

So the Addco parts dept knuckleheads couldn't ask you a couple simple questions and send you the part you need. That's just lazy on their part.

My thought exactly. A binary choice, coulda nailed it down... "Did you pay extra for the larger hollow tube bar, or buy the regular solid one?"

Now that I have the part number I'll try once again to call them.

Hopefully someone there is bright enough to hit the transfer button if you don't get 'parts' on the first hit. Good luck.

I did mine last year. Addco front bar is 1 1/4 thick" Bushing With bracket Part # 2196 ". Or you can stop by a Advance Auto and get the grease able ones from Energy Supression for a 1 1/4 inch bar" Bushing with bracket part # 9.5165 ".

Should this read bushing w/ bracket for a 2196 bar?

made 3 phone calls, 2 of which were unanswered and 2 emails, both unanswered, I have given up on ADDCO. I will just go aftermarket.

Thanks for all the info. You could give www.Neverenoughauto.com a call and see if they can get anywhere. They may even have what you need. They are a big Addco seller.

i remember a similar post not long ago, i think addco moved to FL and obviously lost employees and are still short handed. I think someone did reach them and they apoligized ( not that means anything anymore) and got the moving to FL story. if they plan on staying in business, they better up their skills. I here ADTR.net got eibach to make panther sway bars. might only be available thru ADTR. check the site.
Personally I'd go with ...
Front Swaybar End links:
Moog - K80140 - greasable
I just put these on my 2006 Grand Marquis. Any idea how often to grease them? I was planning to call Moog and ask.

Looking into picking these up. I have a 1.25" Addco front and a 1" Quickor rear, so hopefully Energy can help with the rear too.
The only thing going right over my head is "front sway bar end links"? I'm missing something obvious I guess, as I just installed the front bar 10-11 years ago, and don't see end links like I do in the rear, or recall the need to lube anything on those ends. (For that matter, I have no idea how I got those front ends done years ago; looks completely inaccessible, but somehow I did it pretty easily as I recall).
I was planning on undoing both sets of brackets today and regreasing them, but this is a better solution.
Thanks.

Ok, got it, what I tied into at the time of install, thanks. My RSB came with new end links, but since the Addco didn't I never considered replacing them.
By the way, I see the Energy bushings are polyurethane so it's good they're greasable, because poly can squeak like hell if not kept greased. My Metco control arm bushings are pretty bad in that way.
I have also done a bad job keeping them greased, just every couple of years, so hope I haven't damaged them actually. Checking them out today...
Thanks again.

I did a write up on how to use the Energy Suspension greasable sway bar bushings with the rear Addco sway bar.

There are some who poo - pooed it but they are still working fine.

Thanks, appreciate it. I'll have to see how my rear bushings are holding up after all this time.
Funny, the Quickor RSB was a superior bar to the Addco IMO, but he just couldn't get the bushings right. He used a shorter bushing with two steel spacers, that could never pull up tight enough in the bracket and eventually the spacers would work loose or fall out.
The Addco bushings for the rear worked perfectly, and as I recall Addco even sent them to me for free.

BTW, probably mentioned elsewhere, but from Energy Suspension tech support on the difference between the 9.5165 and 9.5272 greasable front bushings:
"Main difference is going to be the bolt spacing on the brackets 9.5165 has a min bolt spacing of 2.56 to a max of 3.62; 9.5172 has a min bolt spacing of 3.00 in to a max of 3.62."
I can't tell you what Addco I have, it's 1.25" is all I know, so assuming the 2196, and believe I used the OEM brackets with their bushings. Based on that I don't see how you could use both Energy part numbers in our cars. I'm thinking the 9.5165 is correct, but will pull a bracket and measure it first.

I posted this in post 13 for my fronts.
I purchased the Energy Suspension part# 9.5165G for the front 1-1/4" sway bar. Piece of cake to change and now they are greaseable.

Thanks, I appreciate the confirmation. I'm pretty sure most folks got the same Addco FSB, but the multiple part numbers from Energy was confusing.
Did you do the end links as well?
My bushings still look ok, but it's a PITA to take them off to grease them.

No, just the bushings.
However, I noticed a few weeks ago that both of my rear sway bar end links were broken. O'Reilly Auto Parts had a Moog set that had a larger bolt size.

Sorry, was that RSB an Addco as well? The end links that came with my Quickor steel RSB were pretty substantial, but I need to check them.

Looking at these FSB greasable endlinks K80140 and have a question on install. The Moog install instructions say you have to remove the caliper assembly first, (I wouldn't think you'd need to remove the caliper to change them out?) and then:
"The stabilizer bar links are under pressure when the suspension is in the rebound position. Using a suitable jack stand, raise the suspension arms until the pressure is released from the stabilizer bar links."
I'm taking it that the "rebound position" is with the suspension hanging. I think they mean to use a floor jack. Should I just jack under the hub, as if the wheel is on the car and it's on the ground, or is there a better suspension point to lift?
Sorry, I know it seems obvious, but I'm literal when it comes to stuff like this and it doesn't hurt to double check.

Norm, I interpret that as "use a floor jack to raise the lower control arm until pressure is released then put a jack stand under it."
Or maybe I'm just hearing an adult from a Charlie Brown cartoon talking... "wha...wha...wah-wha-wha".

Thanks, makes sense. I could have sworn there was access from the outside with just the wheel off, but will see if I need to take off the caliper once I get in there.
I was going to stop with the greasable FSB bushings, but after 14 years changing the end links isn't a bad idea.

I have front and rear Addco bars, after keeping stock for around 100,000 miles.
No squeaks or grease -- ever -- with either

I have the rear non-greasable Addco bushings, been on for 12 years. I took them off last week and they were in perfect shape, but they did need to be lubed. No squeaks on the bar, but I don’t want it all dried out.
Likewise the front bushings look fine and don’t squeak, but the greasable front bushings from Energy Suspension are cheap insurance and saves having to lower the bar and lube the bushings every few years.
Still debating on the greasable front end links.

Why debating? The cost isn't much more and they will last longer.

True, the OEM ones still look pretty good though. But I think you’re right. Everything else front and back has been replaced or cleaned up and lubed so might as well.
One thing I learned for Energy Suspension parts is to check prices on Amazon first. Guess that’s obvious, but I didn’t do it with the other smaller parts I bought. From Energy Suspension parts.com everything is more, even though they have great service.
On Amazon a set of the greasable front links is $74 and then another 10% off coupon, w/ free shipping, on ES parts.com they’re $100 plus shipping.

Funny you say that as I've noticed amazons prices do nothing but climb in the last few months. I've been ordering quite a few dirt bike parts for two different bikes and parts for my F150 mostly but I've had to send most of my business back to ebay because of pricing. I'm not talking a couple of bucks higher after shipping, more like 10-30% difference lately!
So free shipping my ass. I still check amazon first, but seems I've been using their services last lately.

I get free shipping with prime. The end links would have been about $115 from Energy Suspension parts.com.
Amazon was $37 and change each, with a 10% off coupon. Only hitch was they added tax. I saved nearly $40, which works for me.
I agree Amazon has gotten higher as they’ve gotten bigger, but on some items they still can’t be beat, and I’ve never been ripped off on Amazon; I have on eBay.
My problem is I don’t always think to check Amazon first, and that’s cost me in the past.
