2004 Marauder in SWFL

2004 Mercury Marauder. Toreador Red w/grey leather. I just replaced short block with a '04 Cobra short block with the good crank, rods and pistons. The short block came out of a stock 46k mile car that was totaled. I went with all new timing chains and gaskets on the R&R. I was moving forward on doing an Eaton swap but have another project that I want to do instead.

The transmission was just serviced and works great. The car is in great shape. The weakest point on the car is the paint. It's a 10 footer. It's never been wrecked, it's just lived in Florida all it's life and is showing some wear. It still looks pretty decent but it wouldn't win any car shows.

It runs down the road great and will haul bootie for a big car....put an Eaton SC on her and she would flat move.

What's up with the paint? Can you photograph some of the representative issues?

Sorry for the slow response. Busy time here. The paint issues are some bubbling on the roof and the bumper covers. The bubbling on the roof and the bumper covers are a result of the P/O being lazy. He left the car outside the last 2-3 years he owned it. He didn't wax it or do much else but let it sit. He had bought a new car that took its slot in the garage. I rattle canned the bumper covers because they looked like hell. The roof looks to be where the paint just "micro cracked" from the heat and water got in. It's not a major issue but enough to bother me. Other than the small spots on the roof the car it is rust free. It looks pretty good when cleaned up from 10 feet but much closer and the flaws come out. I'm a perfectionist though so my version of pretty good and other people's my vary.
