I'm sure many of you guys are planning to go, so lets make the best of it and have a meet?
The CVN crowd will be doing an international meet I'm sure it might have been posted here or definitely will be posted later on, but anyway... it starts on Friday June 13th in St. Thomas Ontario Canada and than Saturday June 14th moves to Dearborn Michigan US of A... Everyone is welcome to join us.
My plans are to stay an extra day in Michigan (the New Englanders from CVN will be leaving Dearborn Saturday and going back to Canada for another day) and hang out there... I'll be attending with my dad so it should be less boring. Although I'm definitely looking forward to this thing.
Who else will attend and where do you guys wanna meet?
later,

Russ:
I heard something about a meet on those dates to tour the STAP, but didn't realise it was the 100th anniversary... cool.
My wife and I think it would be great fun to see where our Marauder was born.
And I hear that, like, the Canada is very nice too, eh? :D

here's the link to the site Dave created for this whole event exclusively:

Dave is a great guy and as you can see very detail oriented with all the info, they went last year but I missed that one, this year I'm bringing my father with me, it'll be great, and the tickets are already purchased, the only thing left to do is to reserve the rooms and find another hotel in Michigan so we can tour Dearborn two days in a row.
It'll be a lot of fun, I hope.

Russ,
We (the wife, the Marauder, and I) will be going to Greenfield Village, but probably won't be able to get to Canada the Friday before.
For those who are going but have never been to Dearborn:
Hotels in Dearborn are (reportedly) filling up quickly, but since Greenfield Village sits by the Southfield Freeway and Michigan Avenue in Dearborn, it's very easy to get to from anywhere in the Metro Detroit Area, including Metro Airport.
There is lots of free parking at Greenfield Village, and food can be purchased throughout the facility but the food can be pricey. Traditionally folks will bring picnic baskets or backpacks and picnic on the Village green.
The Village itselft makes a nice day outing, and Ford Museum (right next door) has a lot of interesting exhibits, but wear comfortable shoes. Lotsa walking.
There is also a MiraMax theatre ( one of those 40' screens or some such), but I would be willing to bet it won't be easy to get into during the anniversary week.
Bring a camera, and bottled water (there are water fountains throughout the facility, and it's potable enough, but there never seems to be one where I need one :) ).
I generally toss everything into a small backpack (sunscreen, aspirin, etc.) And a hat may come in very handy. (Marauder hat???). The weather should be in the 70's around here that time of year, but a light jacket (Marauder leather would be a bit heavy <g>) might be required in the evening. Not many 'skeeters or creepy-crawlies out that time of year, normally.
For souveniours, the friendly, helpful staff can perform a wallet-ectomy at the Gift Shop <g>.

thats great guys, its nice to see that we should have a number of fellow enthusiast there. the problem with last years Dream Cruise in Michigan was lack of planning on CVN/MM part to get all the members together (we had guys who attended the event and somehow missed the big Panther meet that was part of the events' display, as photographed by Chino here: http://www.jerseyvics.com/pantherclub/dreamcruise2002/ ) It shouldn't happen at this show, I'll try to put something together so we all get a chance to at least shake hands and introduce ourself, perhaps take a walk to the parking lot and check out your cars (you wouldn't wanna see my junks, lol)
good advice on the water and backpack/hat tips, very useful I'm sure! I'll certainly throw something like that in the trunk from home and have it there to use, I just hope Ford folks won't turn us around at the door if we're about to enter a museum or something and food/drink/backpacks are not allowed.... I plan to buy a digital camera before I go to Dearborn. I also want to get a hat made at a local mall (or at the airport, where they have this machine on wheels among all those duty-free shops, and they scan a design in, put a cheapo hat in it and the machine saws the logo you gave them to scan.... I just want a simple white hat with the "JerseyVics" logo I created for my site and use here as a signature. One for me and one for my dad so you guys can easy spot us there.
also, as Merc. suggested on CVN I might stay in Windsor Canada the last night I'm in Michigan area probably friday night, anybody else staying at Windsor? Maybe we can stay in the same hotel so we can hang out there, or work on the cars.... (perhaps not literaly but you know what I mean)
ok, put your feedback here, the event is not that far away...only a few months to go.
