PI Head and Intake HP

Is there any horse power and torque numbers for only bolting on PI heads and PI intake on a 2000 Merc. with non PI parts? What about adding cams with the PI heads? Are the power gains worth the money?WOuld that require a chip for just that? This is all on a 2v engine.

No offence intended, I'm just checking...by "PI" you DO mean Performance Improved, not Police Interceptor, right?

This chart (http://www.crownvic.net/liquid/power_chart.jpg) shows the difference between PI and NPI motors...looks like you'll gain about 20 HP and 20 TQ...worth the money? Only you can answer that...depends on how much you pay for the heads (new/used) and whether you can do the work yourself or have to pay someone else...I don't believe a chip would be NECESSARY, but will certainly add to your power gain, with or without the new heads...

*EDIT* Now that you've added your sig, I see you have the Superchips tuner, so no, you won't need a chip to add the PI heads...

Check the latest issue of MM&FF. There is a buildup of exactly what your asking about. I believe they got close to 400 hp with PI heads and intake and a set of Comp Cams camshafts.
