View Full Version : 4V swap Mark 8 into 2004 Crown Victoria Race Car
Hey guys I am Working on a 4V Mark 8 swap for our Crown Victoria race car.
The engine is in the car and I have a few questions about the swap.
1. Where do I find a Cap for the EGR on the headers? I got the Stainless works.
2. Are there two different style Mafs on Crown vics? I have a Slot style maf on my 2004 while most others have the regular style.
3. Who out there is capable of Tuning the swap?
4. I need a Maurader Coolant Crossover, Anyone know where I could find one?
Few pictures-

I used the original EGR cap but the tube was cut off and welded closed. Try that if You want.

Well the EGR tube from the Mark is not the same pitch or size as the MM.

I used the EGR cap off the EGR tube from a 2V on My 4V SW Headers. It was cut and welded closed.

Lethal Performance sells EGR caps. I think American Muscle does too

Virginia International Raceway. The race is August 11-13th so I have until then to get the car ready. It is a true 24 hour race from 12Pm to 12 pm!

Just curious why you picked a tubby, luxo-barge, cop-car to go racing? I see from the pix you've gutted a lot, but these cars are rarely used for that purpose.

Not sure if serious- you were able to build entire race car but not able to find/make EGR cap? Something smells fishy.
If you are serious then PM me this is 5 min fix.

BTW this is a perfect example of why B heads are a PITA.

Good luck. Nice to see somebody doing something different instead of everybody just trying to hop up a Mustang.

Because that is what the series allows, we run Boss 302R mustangs in other series.
One day possibly planning on chopping the car in half and Shortening it like this one haha! https://scontent-ort2-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/14681877_1796801303890804_4312 131090476311566_n.jpg?oh=3144b 4507e768b20c97c5a0dc59e5f3a&oe=59C58BBE

I like the shortened car prob handles 10x betterI never thought I'd say this, but I like it, too...as long as no one does it to a Marauder.

I would love to see you step by step with pictures of how they accomplished that.
