Can someone recommend a good window regulator?

Heard a loud pop the other day. Thought someone threw a rock at the car. Now window is Fu#%&d up. Barely got it up by hand so it doesn't sit wide open all night.

I see some as cheap as $18, on Ebay. Is there a particular one that's is recommended??

Looks like a pain to fix and I don't want to have to do it again.

Oh yea, and she just rolled over 160,000 mile today...a coincidence?? I think not.

Thanks!!

Buy one with a lifetime warranty, like Napa or Advance Auto Parts. That way if it even fails you can get it immediately replaced without having to wait for shipping and snail mail. Also, be prepared to remove large aluminum rivets that retain the glass to the regulator, and the regulator to the door structure. 1/4" nuts/bolts can be used instead. You'll need six of each, 4 short to hold the regulator to the door and 2 longer to attach the glass to the lift mechanism. Common issue, 43K miles my LF failed already.

Did you get around to doing this repair?

I've got two bad regulators on mine, but I've also got two spare complete doors. I'm considering replacing the door instead of the regulator, as the regulator swap seems like a real PITA.

Replacing a door is the last resort. The body integrity and alignment will have you on the phone with suicide prevention. The regulator is a snap. I'd do it free if you lived near me.

Did it yesterday. It wasn't easy. Have to punch and drill out about 6 rivets and remove window. Not impossible but I don't want to do it again. I replaced the rivets with nuts and bolts just in case I have to do it again. Window works even better now.
