Background: Eaton'd black 03. Fairly conservative in the mid-400's HP. Runs great but have issues on extreme hot days typically 95*F+, usually to or from the track. After some hill decent(inj shutoff) the fuel system turns off and wont restart. Luckily I have always been driving with friends so I pull the FPDM out and cool in another a/c'd car and back on the road for a while. If I hold the throttle I can keep it out of inj shutoff and prevent it from happening from then on. FPDM is upgraded.
So while the fuel system does keep up with my power demands I am considering a swap to a more reliable return system and ditch the crappy FPDM, which may open me up to more future power also.
Question: What's the preferred method for setting up a return fuel system, I've searched and not much info has come up, other than use the evap lines as the return lines.
Do we use aftermarket rails or 96-98 cobra rails?
98 style fuel pump assembly - swap my aero340 into?
98 fuel pressure regulator or?
do you use both the fuel pressure regulator and maintain the FRP sensor or ditch it?
If using the evap lines for return, delete purge valve and retune?
Seems a good handful of members here have done this, I'm surprised more info is not readily available
