Due to popular demand, here is a posting dedicated just to my wagon.
It is a 1970 Ford Country Squire with the snarling 429 2 barrel V-8
To my knowledge I am the 3rd owner. I bought from an older gentlemen who was had worked as a mechanic at a local Lincoln/Mercury dealership in Phoenix since the late 50's. He claims to have bought the car i the late 70's from the original owner. The motor still puts like a kitten
It did sit a while so he had a hose going direct from the fuel pump to a small gas bottle under the hood so it could idle every so often without pulling any sludge from the tank. I assumed a tank cleaning is in the future. When I fire it up, it is smooth as butter. No knocks, no ticks, and no smoking from the exhaust. I don't drive it and never have in the past 4 years I've owned it so I'm sure it needs plenty of TLC, such as new tires, plugs, wires, coolant flush, oil change and all that fun stuff. Th only thing I have bought is a brand new Edelbrock manifold that is still in the box and I may let it go with the wagon if the price is right.
I'm not really looking to get rid of it but I will entertain offers. I have a price in mind but I also have one in mind for my Marauder and that hasn't went to so well so if anyone really wants it, I'll consider your offer. He who offers the most shall win. I will say that if I get enough to buy an Excursion or if anyone wants to trade me for an Excursion, that will really get my attention. I have no interest in parting it out. It's too nice to see it pillaged for its 429.
