Anybody have a Marauder that doesn't have a locking steering wheel? This is the first car I've ever owned since my old 67 Catalina that doesn't have a steering wheel that locks when you take the key out.
I don't know if it has anything to do with my multi function steering wheel (cruise, radio and A/C controls) but I mentioned it to the service writer and she said they don't lock!
Guess I have to join some "Club"? I hate those.
There was a thread on this recently. Supposedly none of the steering wheels lock (I know mine doesn't) because the chip in the key gives you the same level of security.

You don't really need it anylonger with the PATS system, and no, no Marauder has a truley locking steering wheel. Just a biage to try and turn with the car off.

So I can park it with the wheels turned and some thieves with a tow truck still won't be abled to lift the rears and tow it away?
Coool. Oooops gotta go. Bullit's chasing a charger!

I was wondering that myself...next time I jack the front, I need to have the wheels cranked w/o a key. But the more I think about it, when I did my calipers, I remember turning the wheels by hand when it was on jack stands.
That's not good, and likely defeats the cranking the wheel to deter towing idea.
I think a club wedged in place could potentially crack the windshield if someone tried to move the car with a tow truck, seeing as how the steering wheel does not truely lock.

With positive caster on those front wheels, jacking up the rears will move the caster towards the negative and they might tend to wander, making such a project dangerous.
I sure don't want to have to buy no friggin' club. And alarm systems can easily be defeated by just drilling a hole in the battery from underneath and draining out the electrolyte.
Guess I'm gonna have to go ahead and spring for the BDS.

BDS? Got me with that acronym.Batcar Defense System. You know, that expanding metal shell that shoots out of the wheel wells and makes a bullet-proof shield around the whole car.
They did a fantastic demo of it in Batman the movie.:bounce:
