View Full Version : front coils and shocks, and rear shocks ??

What is a good overall front coil and shock set up, that won't break the bank, same with rear. 03 Marauder has 163k on what I think is stock suspension. Going with Addco front and rear sway bars, but kinda stumped on the rest. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I have KYB's on my Marauder.
Some people use Monroe Severe duty for Police cars.

My vote is Monroe SD in front, KYB in rear

I have had oem, kyb, Monroe. Then stock springs cut 1" with same combo. Then QA1 double adjust. Out of all the QA1 were best but they would bottom out not enough travel. I will try Ride tech HQs next time around. My tires bounce like basketballs & no it is not worn shocks they have done that since day one.

I will get my car back soon from MO's..Had them put Ridetech HQ on with 700 lb spring as they are not progressive rate. ADAM has the ridetech's on wi tht he standard 650 spring and he likes them so far. I almost went QA1 but read too many people took them off for not staying in adjustment, bottoming out, sagging over a year. Naake made this kit up and used a 450 lbs spring. I think they would have done better using a 550 spring or 600. They do have other springs ratings. I'll put ridetech HQ shocks on the rear after I get the car back most likely.

Could somebody chirp in some part numbers for kyb shocks and springs for the front, and already have springs/shocks in rear, (PO did it, but not very well), Looking for rear springs and shocks. Part numbers please.

I went KYB-HDs all around with cut coils up front & 2013 Mustang springs in back. Combined with the Addco sway bars, spherical links, & spherical control arms, this boat handle FLAT. And I only have a few hundred into it. I promise it'll compete all day with a pricier coilover setup.
