I'm going to buy a plate style trans cooler in preparation for the torque converter I have for the car. Have no yet decided on a model. I am looking to see where you guys are putting your aftermarket transmission coolers. I value a nice clean and simple install that does not involve going through the radiator. Pics are appreciated.

The OEM Trans Cooler works well.

Be care full you don't block off your radiator, trans are cheaper than engines.

Agreed but on hot days my trans gets up to 195*. Not gonna work for me, especially with a looser converter. My plan is to mount it somewhere off of the radiator directly with a nice gap in between.

I installed a Hayden 677 a few weeks ago. I'll get pics this weekend. Im supercharged so its mounted to the heat exchanger but you can get a good idea of how I routed the cooler lines.

Make Brackets and hang it from the core support

I will eventually update you guys on where I put it, but initially I am going to see how it does without it. I just bought the reische 170 thermostat, so I'll put that in and see how it does with the factory cooler. Anything over 185-190* and I will install the cooler.

LOL WHAT?!?!?

I'm going to assume you think the trans fluid is plumbed into the radiator from your statement. INCORRECT

I am not near my car to look, but I was under the impression the radiator had a trans cooler in it. The trans is always within a couple degrees of engine temp so it made sense to me. If you have additional truth data please share. That's not the single reason I bought that though. 11:1 compression on my daily driver I want to be sure along with the tune that it is safe and reliable. I know it's all aluminum but I lean conservative on a build like this.

The trans cooler and PS cooler are inbetween the radiator and condenser.

Good to know. I read somewhere of someone installing a cooler out of an f350 super duty. Anyone have info on this?
