I bought a Chrome powder coated 250 amp alternator from BNR.com CAE for $295 bucks to my door. I am installing it now on my car. Hopefully it will make my sound system pump a little more. And all my electrical switches better. Lights and so on.

Stevengerard Thanks alot. It should look nice. And add to all my ceramic coated ADTR.NET Vortech V-3 Stage 2 kit. I will post some pictures. Once it is all done. And I stop swearing. Because it is a mission doing it now. But almost there.

Gentleman......

This is the "age of the internet".

I know your fingers fit the keys on your keyboards, as you are posting here.

Yea I just put it on. Was a little mission. Being I had to remove the V-3 Vortech supercharger. And some pipes with clamps. I ordered the thick heavy wires with the clamps. I get those next week. But the big job is done already. My music sounds a lot better. Louder and clear. Can't wait to all the battery and alternator wires come in. Now just polishing up all the pipes and the charger. Big Car Show Tomorrow. And on Sunday too.

You will be able to power your audio, lights, defroster, wipers, heated seats, a manowar concert and a toaster with that power.

NorthShoreChiMM That seems about right. The volts are at 14 when you turn car on. And stay there. Until you put everything on A.C. lights music. Then it goes down to 12 volts.

I noticed your battery is leaning backward. Is this by design? It looks like it's ready to spill on yer purty engine compartment.

Where are they going to be if you don't mind me asking?
I'll be around the NyC this weekend so, I might be able to drop by and see the automotive beauties.

Looks great! Wish l could S/C my car here, but don't know how I'd do it here in CA with all the emissions control BS.

250 amps? Does anyone know what the OEM alternator puts out by comparison?

Thanks. I have the underbody lighting kit and some other electrical extras, but not like you. In any case Marty said he could tweak his tune to get some extra juice out of the OEM unit to help with those extras. The OEM alternator never looked that good though. [emoji1531]

Nice setup! Just noticed: I have that same carbon fiber Metco intake tube, and PHP CAI box. What is that bridge you used between the tube and the MAF?

I couldn't get just the standard rubber bell supplied by Metco to work, too short. I remember posting here about it, and a couple of DR fans gave me a hard time because they said I was "putting down" DR. I was just trying to get it to fit, and they way he sold the kit it didn't.

I thought about it and just bought a second rubber bell from Aaron at Metco for $30 to take up the space. They kind of articulate together and make a tight seal. Works great, but I like the look of yours better (although Metco suggests not putting a clamp on the small end of the carbon fiber tube.)

Here's a pic of mine:

I had a issue with the metco one popping off and not seating correctly on the MAF because it was just too short. I ended up ordering a rubber coupler from eBay in the correct diameter and a inch longer then the metco one, that solved my issue and sits correctly.
I’ve also used a clamp on the metco intake but always took care not to over tighten and crack it.

Looks like we both came up with a solution that works. In order for mine to be adjusted correctly I had to lube the inside of one and the outside of the other, then angle one inside the other at an offset towards the throttle body. It's actually a tight seal on the tube.

BTW, don't crack that tube. [emoji79] Real carbon fiber, and they didn't make that many of them. When I spoke to him a few weeks ago, Rick there commented that they are something of a rare beast now.

It’s very rare. In fact I believe maybe 20 of us are out there with this intake tube. I know of 4 off hand that I’ve seen in person, you’re the 5th that I know of. Same goes with my PHP airbox. I bought it back in 2005 and haven’t seen many.

Yep, I bought both the tube and the PHP airbox in the summer of 2005. This replaced a JLT Performance setup I had. I liked the JLT, but it rubbed through the UHI, then rubbed through the paint, then started removing metal from the hood. Just rode too high. JLT has come a long way since those early units.

Only change I made to the PHP was to change the non magnetic slotted silver screws I kept dropping with some black hex nuts. Lots easier to R&R.

Let me know if you want any extra of the original slotted screws for that, I think I have two left and would be happy to send them to you, just in case. One is still buried in the engine bay somewhere never to be found.

Guess what you need - a powder coated intake manifold:

Thank you for messing with my head. Now I got to get a upper and lower intake. And powder coated it. Yours looks drop dead gorgeous. New plan now for the winter. And a timing change cover. To get powder coated. Thanks for the push Lowndex.
