Bought my 1st Marauder the other week and been lurking on this forum since then. Figured it was time to join and try to contribute some and learn more.

I have always liked the Marauders since my family had a 99 grand marquis growing up and the Marauders came out while I was in high school when I was starting to getting into cars. But to be honest I'm more of a truck guy and never had the desire to actually own one until now.

I may catch a lot of flack for this but I came across this 03 black Marauder while I was searching for a panther platform donor chassis so I could steal the front cross member out and swap it into my 1969 F-100 Shorty. The price was right so I went and picked it up. Car has some rear end damage and a slight rod knock. After bringing the car home and getting it cleaned up I'm kinda flip flopping on fixing the car or doing a total Power train swap into the F-100. I hate to scrap a car so rare but I'm afraid with as cheep as I see cars selling for its not worth saving.

I would fix the car and source a cross member from a crown vic.

I have a,... Wait. Hello somewhat local Missourian!

I have a marauder front stub if that's what your after, I also have a shell if you want or need a 1/4 panel since your is tapped... might have that tail light too, it is marauder specific

I'm on the Kansas border

The front steering rack is variable ratio with the electric solenoid, the crown vic is not variable,,, some say the marauder steers fine unplugged, I beg to differ!!

So using the marauder front stub gain is the sway bar, that's it.

Thanks for the replies.

The Vic was what I was looking for 1st but at the time the ones on Craigslist were more than I paid for this MM. crazy I know.

The pictures make the car look way better than it is. Both quarters are damaged and some light scratches all over. Typical for a black car this age.

Also has some rust on the bottom of the doors and some bubbling on the roof. I will try to get some better pictures.

Back seat has a tear and I'd say interior is average for its age.

Thanks for the information Bryan. Defiantly the kind of info I'm looking for. I'm still dragging my feet on Facebook so I'm not too active on there. Looks like you have me covered on the quarters and maybe light.

How hard would it be for a guy to find some factory wheels and a rear bumper? I'm trying to get my body guy to come out and look at this car and get his opinion.

wheels, craigslist...$400-1500 Range..Rear covers...hard to get mostly. $400-1000. most will need paint work. crown vic cover fits, but is slightly different and no marauder embossed

I've got a complete frame, with cross member, 4:10 rear end on air bags, and brakes I'd part with.

Oh Yeah and Welcome to the site.

I think the rear bumper is trashed. I will try to get more detailed pictures tonight.

Nothing wrong with the wheels other than some light curb rash. If I do return this car back to the road I would like it to look all original everywhere but under the hood. Just my preference on a car this unique. One thing for sure is the factory 300 horse would need to be addressed lol.

A tune from MO's Speed Shop in the vendor forum wakes it up nicely and makes the shift points the way they should be and keeps the car in the powerband. Factory shifting is to get to Overdrive asap.

Light curb rash can be addressed buy wheel restore companies. Depending on the condition of the bumper cover it may be able to be repaired. A competent body shop should be able to determine if it's repairable. Hard part is finding a competent auto repair shop.
