Well, after 12 years of daily driving my exhaust is on its last legs. The kooks headers are still holding up quite well but I need the high-flow cats all the way back to the stock tail pipes going over the rear axles.
I originally installed Kooks headers, X-pipe, and the Magnaflows. All pipes after mufflers are still stock and do not need to be replaced. I replaced the Magnaflows after three years as they eventually sounded like open exhaust. I replaced with stock mufflers and was happy.
Just wondering if I need to go with the Kooks high-flow cats or are there others out there. From my searching on this site muffelr preference is clearly personal but it seems more folks comment that Magnaflows are the quietest at idle (with an occasional Borla vote). I use the car daily, would be fine with loud WOT but need to eliminate the drone and keep it relatively quiet at idle.
As for H-pipe vs X-pipe I have looked and looked and see no reason to change except that my X-pipe is rusting out. Even after listening to videos I can not perceive much difference in the sound of either. So I am inclined to get the X-pipe again.
Any suggestions or do I just make it easy and get the Kooks cat back system.
