Hit the track for SSHS prep!

It's been a long hard journey to the Sub 10 second goal. It's been obtainable but extremely elusive. Friday night at Maryland International Raceway was another challenge. Just about every other run created a delay in clean-up. Track conditions was not optimal and lane choice was tricky. After two low 10 second runs it didn't look like a sub 10 was in the cards, but the night was not over.

The last run of the night was magical. It's amazing when all things come together in 9.947 seconds. The sixty foot, eight mile, and 1000 foot were perfect. The speedo was buried and needed more room as the quarter mile registered 137.44 miles per hour. All of this performance comes from a stock displacement Mercury Marauder (4.6), street legal, and street driven. I guess it's time to change the licence plate from "I do 12's".

I have lost 20lbs and if I remember correctly he was still 20lbs lighter than me at Yellow Bullet when he weighed the car and then I weighed the car driving in our respective classes.

I'm done chasing that number now. Just get to go to the track and enjoy it.
