Hey All, odd question, maybe you can help.
Is there a way to have the power going to the cigarette lighter go off/on with the ignition? installed a dash cam, and would rather not hard wire it.
Thanks.

Find a switched power wire and connect it to the lighter.
Hard wiring it will look neater. No hanging wires.
IMHO.... hard wiring it or connecting the lighter to a switched power source will take about the same amount of time.

Re wire the power to the gauge pod gauges. Maybe upgrade the fuse too. Should work that way.

Put a switch on the socket plug outlet, many come with one.

Might be able to find switched power in overhead console.

The RD/YL wires at the oil and volt gauges are keyed power.

If you are using cig lighter, can't you just unplug it?

Thanks for all the great ideas. Would rather not un-plug, or hit a switch every time.
Was reading on another forum, there may be 2 fuses for the cig.lighter. One for constant, one to have lighter work off ignition. Do we have that option?
If not, going to hard wire it.

Wrong... only one fuse for lighter - #25 / 15A.
