240-260 range....260 is a bit high. From what I've read 235 to 245 seems avg. Not saying there might not be that one freak Marauder out there, but a 60hp+/- loss seems pretty common. :)

I've heard mentioned here more than once that 15% loss is pretty standard to use any more from the ole 20%. thats why i listed a range. depends on color

I dyno'd mine not long after I bought it new and my RWHP was about 245 or so.

Since your a 2002 registered member I had a theory that very early builds might have had more power before Ford figured out how to save .02 cents on a different brand part and the HP numbers came down, but you car is mid-pack so my theory just went up in smoke. :)

my theory just went up in smoke. Some of your theories are the result of too MUCH smoke, Eric. :rasta:

Before I Eaton swapped my DTR. I had it dyno'ed. It did not have enough HP to move the rollers. After the swap. Barely enough power to spin the Eaton. But it looks good.

Mine was put on a Mustang dyno. AKA the heart breaker dyno. N/A Kooks Headers Kooks X-pipe with highflow cats. Borla pro mufflers all 2 1/2 from header collector to tailpipes. Accufab twin blade throttle bodt and a JLT cold air kit. Dynamic aluminum drive shaft. My DRY made 280 HP to the tries. And with Ford Racing 60lbs injectors a Aeromotive 340 in tank pump. Vortech boost a pump. And a ADTR Stage 2 kit. With a Vortech V-3 Supercharger. She laid down 450 HP to the tires on 10 pounds of boost. Just waiting on getting a stroker short block. Heads cams and bring up the boost.

So I'm sure I'll get a lot of jokes with this question, but I'll ask nonetheless. Do the marauders seriously make different RWHP depending on color? Did Mercury alter the power capabilities for different colors? Or are people just bashing other MM due to not liking the color?

No physical changes between colors. Just a joke. I forget how it started but DTRs are the slow color.

With the lube I run daily, and the air pressure I run daily, and with the stock calibration, mine puts out 245rwhp SAE in 4th gear with the converter locked. If I run 50lbs of air in the tires instead of 38, it gains 5rwhp. If I run light synthetic oil in the engine and diff, it gains another 5rwhp. If I add 4deg of spark up top and lean it out to 13.3:1 AFR, it gains another 10rwhp. I think the 240-260 estimate is right on the money. Reality; about 245 on 91 octane. I pull 4deg of spark at peak torque, 2deg of spark at peak power, and reshape the part throttle spark table and run 87 octane. Like that, it makes 230rwhp and gets identical MPG; which is how I drive it. It's my commuter.
