How would I go about lowering the rear end of my Marauder. The air bags have been removed. Is it as easy as buying shorter springs? Previous owner removed airbags and added Metco control arms.

I heard V6 Mustang Springs. Unsure the year(s) tho.

I just asked again. OEM GT500 not aftermarket lower it almost 2 inches than what the crown vic is at regular ride height
How tough would it be to redo your air ride?

Not sure. I'd have to figure out what is missing. Not sure why PO went with springs instead of airbags. Maybe it cost more for the airbags.
Thanks for the info.

Heat the springs up with a torch until it sags.
Just kidding. Put the bags back in. Have a mechanic hook up his scan tool and he can set the "new normal" height wherever you want it, down to a millimeter. Then there's no messing with the goofy height adjuster that is probably rusted tight.

Im on the same boat with my MM. PO replaced the rear bags with Coils, i been wanting to lower the rear end since i got the damn car but trying to figure out why and the reason for the swap to coils seems like i may just be opening a can of worms (but leaning on, it might be the control unit in the dash).. has anyone else used GT500 rear coils on their MM?? i have heard of people installing these on the CV's but not MM. i thought the mounting base on the axle housing was different between the Coil equipped cars Vs Airbag cars?

Ok great to know! i was told differently, i was told if i ever wanted to run the ADTR Coilover kit i would need to swap my rear end to a Coil equipped car rear end to be able to run their rear coil over set-up. .

I'm sure 10 11 12 are the same. I have lowering springs on my 2011 5.0 mustang, I'm sure they would slam the rear in a marauder.
I have that box behind the airbag for the steering/airride.
What's fantastic about a working airride system is that I can go from just me in the car, to 4 fat folks and a trunk full of groceries and it's not going to change the ride height
Plus it's cool watching the car lower itself when the last door is shut

I don't believe adtr coil over system is for rear coil overs, our shock mounts are not designed for that. im pretty certain it is a front coilover and a rear shock.

This is true. If you wanted coils in the rear of the marauder you would have to weld in brackets for the springs or get a new axle housing.

Which is exactly what i want. But if i can use GT500 springs for the mean time, i may need to start searching the local Craigslist. While i decided to do a full rear swap or custom bag setup

Just went to ADTR's web site and it says this:
For the rear there are two options:
Marauder or rear air suspension equipped cars: Includes Ridetech monotube rear shocks, thrust bearings and all hardware and parts needed for installation.
Crown Vic Police Interceptor or coil spring equipped cars: Includes Ridetech monotube rear shocks, bolt-on adjustable spring perches, rear springs and all hardware and parts needed for installation.
I'm a little confused as to why the kits would be different between RAS and coil...the air springs sit in the same place as coil springs... :dunno:

If im correct it was something about the rear perch not being able to sit properly on the axle assembly.. so if you vehicle is RAS equipped you would just get the shocks and you would lower the rear via the factory height adjuster.

My point it that there IS no difference in the spring perches between RAS and coil. People convert between them all the time without needed to do anything else.

if you have a lowering spring and jack the rear up and axle droops, the spring will fall out because it us shorter. gt500v rear coil will lower like 2 inches, that is why adtr includes a spring perch tonkerp a lowrring rear coil in place

As has been said, there is NO difference in the spring perch between RAS and coil sprung cars.
The correct answer is any s197 mustang spring will work in the rear of a panther. The spring perch diameters are identical to panthers. The s197 uses a shorter spring, hence the lowering.
The ones I started originally started using were 13-14 gt500 track pack springs. On crown vics. Then of course it snowballed into other options. A 2.5” id coilover spring can be used at the correct length (been there done that) and multiple adjustable s197 spring perch options can be used.
I made threads about this stuff on two other.. panther chassis forums. One very “large” one and a smaller one with panther in its name.
Names with held out of respect for this forum.
I dont know if I’m aloud to insert links from other forums. So.. I guess I can copy and past..

So is the ADTR piece a "spacer" that sits on top of the stock perch? If so, I still don't see why they claim something different for RAS vs. coils.

No the adtr rear kit is an adjustable spring perch, that bolts to the factory perch.. then you run a 2.5” id coilover spring.
It can be ran on any panther chassis vehicle.. as the spring perches are the same diameter.. 2.5” od..
Adtr went the bolt on route as not everyone has access to a welder.. I had done the upr s197 weld in perch on several panthers in my local SoCal group..
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20171212/965021bcd96e4347a25d4a2692771d fb.jpg
Photo included.. for example.. that’s on EVILVIC.. as it’s called KB blown 2v p71..
Along with s197 Viking double adjustable shocks, and my rod end upper and lower arms & watts arms..
Lots of mustang stuff fits with minor work.. rear mustang shocks, the rear lower control arms are the same length, minor mod needed for them to fit a panther..
