Man what a quick trip. Left Delaware at 6 PM Wednesday, pulled in to Orange Park at 7AM, had breakfast and then dropped the car off with Dennis. What a great person to hang with.......more later! Dennis promptly loaned me the Blue Streak and off the Pensacola we went. Left Dennis's shop
about 9 AM and arrrived in Pensacola about 2 PM CDT. I-10 was packed with HP units the entire length. The V1 and K-40 kept me out of trouble the entire trip both directions. Spent the night in the Pensacola area as the car wasn't going to be ready until Friday afternoon anyway, and I was beat. Arrived back at the shop about noon. Still several hours to go on the car, so went off to visit old friends from my Navy days in JAX.
Got back to the shop about 4. Car was quite done. Again, Dennis was a gracious host and stayed late to complete the work. The only thing we ran out of time for was the dyno tune. Will get that in Indy if available. Dennis was getting ready to trek off to Gainesville for w aeekend of drag racing. Hope he did well!
Got the Cobra exhaust with x-pipe and Hi-flow cats. PI Stallion 3000 torque converter, under-drive pullies, coolant upgrade, and last but not least the transmission upgrade. I must admit.....the car has undergone another personallity change. With the installation of the sway bar, Mack/Zack bars, along with the 4.10's I already had, the car changed. But with these latest upgrades, it's an entirely different beast. Another plus that I didn't expect from the upgrades was an increase in fuel mileage. Even new with the 3.55's I was never able to quite make 20 MPG. Now, I'm pushing 22 MPG on the road from the trip back. After the 900 mile trip back, I'm satisified with the way the car handles and moves. How effortless it was to go from cruising at about 76 to move around slower traffic and stay ahead of faster moving, approaching trafffic. A touch of the throttle and the car was sittin' at 90 and climbing. No muss no fuss!
I now think I'm done. Still got the sill plates to go, but otherwise, my daily driver, working car has probably seen it's last performance mod. Brakes will probably be next, but I'm gonna need to have the originals replaced soon anyway. Will turn 57K on the way to work tonight......
