Can anyone suggest to me what this may be ? I live in the Northeast where winters can get pretty cold. At the end of last winter I noticed every few days when the temperature was say mid 40s or below when I started the Marauder (sits outside by the way) a loud wining sound would come from under the hood. After the car ran for about 2-3 minutes it would stop. Once the weather is in the upper 40s or above everything is fine. So when winter ended and throughout the spring and summer and fall until a few days ago no problem. Everything was normal. Had it again this morning since temperature was low 40s. But on some cold mornings its okay. Any idea on what this could be ? Appreciate any comebacks.

Could be the power steering pump whining until the fluid gets warmed up a bit.

What JimP said ^^^ Try rocking the steering wheel a few times and see if the sound changes.

Another possibility is the FEAD belt.

Either P/S pump or serpentine belt.

+1 on the P/S pump or the Serpentine belt.

My idler pulley used to whine at startup (in South Jersey).
