Is there a stickier tire that works well with the jmod but is also all weather capable? Does such a tire exist? I'm looking to do the jmod but don't want tire chirp. Thanks for any suggestions.

I don't have the Jmod but I do have a tune with very firm upshifts. Those became chirps after installing billet control arms. You're going to be ok unless accelerating hard. The torque convertor does absorb a lot of the upshift.

Factory size or 265/50 (Nitto) for stock rear wheels....

I have Nitto 555's and they are super quiet and don't chirp but I go through a set of rears in about 4-5K miles and I don't have a high HP car. Its a pretty boring experience.

I'm with Zack on this, noise makes it much more fun.

The 1-2 shift chirp is crazy cool. Do you own a Prius as your DD?

I would say if you don’t want tire chirp just keep your foot off the gas. For me, the purpose of every one of my first mods from tune to 4:10’s to pullies to Meziere WP was to get chirps.
BTW, I have the sticky 265/50-18” Nittos 03Merc mentions. They’re great in the dry, but not being the G2’s (they don’t make them in that size), just OK in the wet. That’s fine where I live.
With Marty’s tune they don’t chirp too much, they just spin and smoke. [emoji41]

Ok, ok... geeze... I was told that it wasn't a good thing for the tires to chirp. I also thought having a stickier tire would be more helpful for take off... I guess I was thinking wrong. What I do hate is when I am turning onto the highway, like I do on my way to work, and have to accelerate quickly I dislike it when my tires end up spinning and I peel out, especially with oncoming cars. I just figured a stickier tire might be more helpful. But then again, I'm about to have my rear end rebuilt and put in a torque tensioner along with a crap load of other things, so that may help with the peeling out... or make it more difficult... which is why I wanted to make sure I had the best tire setup. So, at any rate, I guess I won't be worried about tire chirp. And if I am being totally honest, I didn't 100% know exactly what tire chirp was and figured it wasn't a good thing. I see I was wrong...

I can't think of anything to say after this.

DONT GET THE JMOD... just a killer tune from Marty! Call him as he can explain it better than I can.
I get second gear chirp when I want it and a subtle but firm shift for everyday driving as you described.

You’re not wrong, a stickier tire will grab and launch better obviously, but they’re not going to eliminate chirp. But consider yourself lucky you have that power “problem” with your car. When I first got the car with the old 9100 tune I had along with the less sticky stock tires, I could barely get a chirp out of them. I was starting to think I had a V-6.
A later tune helped a little, but it wasn’t until Marty’s tune just recently that the car really woke up.
