That's a great Fox swap!

Was it a FRPP crate engine or a junkyard donor?

I have tried selling my '84 GT Turbo Vert....didn't want to spend a ton of money making the 'old Pinto motor with a hairdryer' run again,
but that new 2.3L EcoBoost swap has me rethinking....:hmmm:

I have so many questions. I have a 86 Turbo Coupe I'd love to perform this swap on.
What k-member did you use?
Did you keep power steering and use a hydraulic pump or go manual rack?
What did you use for the PCM and did you trim it down to "stand alone" in the fox?
Who makes the paddle shifters the article spoke of?

I’d be happy to answer your questions.

We actually put electric steering on this. It works well and is very cool.

We are using the factory PCM and portions of the factory harnesses stripped to what we needed.

There is a guy that makes shifters fir use in imports but he won’t respond to me.

I need an RF shifter to talk to the PCM ti command the up and down shifts. Right now I can put the car in regular Auto mode or sport shift which is way more aggressive (fun) and then if I want to override sport shift mode I am using push buttons instead of paddles. I need to get paddle shifters. I am working hard but keep hitting dead ends.

I spoke to the folks at PCS as well as several other companies.

PCS will not work on a PCM controlled trans.

The other companies so far have not offered solutions for us.

Rumor has it that Lokar (whose shifter I am currently using) may offer a bump shifter which is not my preferred route but may be a direction I have to follow.

We are still working on a solution.

Today I ordered some parts that my allow me to have push button shifting hidden on the back of the steering wheel! I might be on to something here.

So which of my friends has a 3D printer??? :D

Fictiv or emachineshop.com are good options if you don't have friends.
