Does anyone have a source for projector style European headlights for the Marauder? (notice how NOONE ever misspells Marauder?)...

I was looking for the four round blacked-out headlight look (kinda like the Lincoln LS/Street Stalker/NBC Shooter SEMA photos/PHP Marauder) as opposed to the
current two rectangular blacked-out Cobra style headlights that are MM OEM.

I originally thought you simply cut the plastic front off the current headlights and paint the back of the clear plastic BLACK in the design of four round circles.
No go, there is only ONE BULB per headlight and they are centered right in the middle of my proposed blacked-out circle paint.

I am right in the middle of a VERY positive modification experience with an Auto Show Quality shop in Crestwood, IL. They could easily be talked into becoming vendors (Logan!) and are currently taking the center out of the MM grille and lower air intake and installing a Cadillac CTS-V style stainless steel mesh into it...it is nice to work with PERFECTIONISTS that take pride in and love their work (THANKS SgtMAC!).

P.S. Yes, I will post photos

P.S. II I guess I am one of the few here that thinks the MM front end
design needs work...I just want to make sure NOONE EVER
mistakes the Marauder with a CV/GM...that's what I get for
dating DITZY young women...

:stupid:

hey, i was actually thinking of putting a bmw.mercedes/acura bi-xenon projector into the headlight housing. I have done this mod with a previous car and the results are fantastic. If i can come across a spare set of headlight, i will be doing this mod myself!!

I've always thought the first mod I'd want to do to a Marauder is get a set of nice xenon's like what ultravox is talking about. What a GREAT idea!

From what I see on the road, the Town Car's xenon's are too light and not intense enough, BMW and Acura are the nicest I've seen.

I do have my own Xenon bulbs and ballasts for my car..8000K
That blue looks amazing-

However I have considered the the Projectors, as they would look very nice installed. But there arent any solutions yet! Hopefully one of you guys can find one.......

good luck
If anything use the Lincoln Xenons - they are the best and brightest - Ever been behind a navigator/Aviator?! Lincoln did invent the damn things......

Just noticed that the newer Lincoln LS headlights look alot like the four round blacked-out circles I was planning on installing...

Wonder if they would fit or could be modified to fit?

Also, I will have the stainless mesh grille in a week or so and will post photos...thanks to SGT MAC for an excellent referral to a great company in Crestwood, IL...(soon to be vendors if I tell Logan)...

Now that you mention it, the Navigator has some really nice ones I completely forgot about that. But I still don't think the Town Car's are bright enough.

Can someone please advise what is wrong with my idea to take Lincoln LS headlights and mount them behind the front plastic covers of the Marauder headlights?

They would be DOT (obviously) because the Lincoln LS had DOT headlights...I imagine it might be tough to aim and adjust the light beams, but I will have to allow for adjustment movement...

If you search the NET for EURO PROJECTOR HEADLIGHTS or CUSTOM HEADLIGHTS you will find some VERY interesting alternatives to the OEM Marauder headlight assemblies...make sure they are DOT and insurance compliant...

Can someone find out what was done to these lights? Are they custom lights or were they painted for THE LOOK?
:D

Only downside to installing HIDs onto our stock lights is you lose your high beams unless you buy a dual beam HID kit but they are even more pricey that a single beam HID kit. Best thing would be to custom make a 4 headlight system...maybe projector HID low beams with regualr high beams.

thanks for the support!!!

That photo keeps coming up (it is the Street Stalker/NBCshooter's SEMA photo/Paul's High Performance Street Stalker)...and it is DRIVING ME CRAZY!!!

I think we are finally looking at a MOD that would add world class style (the elusive Auto Show Prototype Factor) to the Marauder...

The Marauder looks fine, I think the rear end and side look better than the current OEM front end, but like I said...I don't want ANYONE (even ditzy 20 year old women) to ever mistake the Marauder for a garden variety Crown Victoria or Grand Marquis...

WHere did that photo come from?
Are the headlights just painted over?
Did anyone search for custom headlights or Euro projector headlights?

Have you seen the new Lincoln LS headlights?
(they look like four round blacked out headlights
but are still behind the single clear plastic cover)

I was thinking of buying a set of LS headlights
and removing the Marauder headlights while saving
the clear cover which I think I have to cut off and reattach.

Will this work?

Is it legal? (why not LS lights are DOT also?)

Can it be done?

Is someone (with a bit more craftsmanship) able to
complete this modification, before I modify my Marauder
into a daytime only vehicle...

P.S. What's the rush? Well, my grille is in Crestwood, IL
getting a stainless steel mesh insert and the headlights
are now a MUST DO

Although I feel this is a wonderfull idea....I have been following this thread hoping for a light bulb to go off in someones head, I don't believe you will be able to hybridize the LS headlight to the MM headlight.

We own both cars, and I looked really close. There is too much size difference, and the rear part of the assembly is what actually secures it inside the car. the LS rear just won't line up to allow the lamp to be secured proprly and allow future pitch adjustments. You will also need to modify the wiring harness' on the MM for the two bulbs, the easiest part of the mod.

Good luck, I'll be watching.....

the new Impala "SS" (wannabe) has the headlights I was talking about

deep set and aerodynamic, while still looking like four blacked-out circles

But Chevy stuff never fits into Mercury stuff does it?
Would it be automotive heresy?

At least they are both American made!

P.S. Let's keep the dissing to non-Union overseas unibody junk

At least Ford, General Motors, and Chrysler are making a real effort to lead the world in design and technology...it is up to us to ONLY support UAW labor...that IS the American/Patriotic thing to do...isn't it?
