eBay fender?

I've got a nasty little rust bubble getting worse and it's almost all the way through at this point. It's on my driver's side fender lip.

I see some fenders on eBay for $175 shipped brand new primed. Anyone have any experience with these? How's the quality and fitment? Could be a nice option because finding a perfect condition black fender ready to go is harder than I thought.

Unless it's CAPA-certified, I'd stay away. Get an OEM from Tasca.

I got a replacement fender from the Taxi parts place. The quality isn't as durable, for example, if You lean on it, trying to change spark plugs or what not, it could dent easily.

Yes, go with a junk yard OEM if You can find one good condition. I needed one in a hurry so I settled for the aftermarket.

Buddy of mine ordered a capa certified and it came in crunched, ordered again and came in dented

Shop fixed the dent, painted it off the car and went to put it on and all the core support to fender and nose were not lining up. Had to drill it, and then where it meets the door it's not long enough.

I feel a $40.00 junkyard fender and some effort it would have turned out much better

Go oem, new or used IMHO

yes that is correct 03 up are alike. the 03-05 header panels are the same.

I found 2 silver birch doors at a yard still on the car, i passed on them and a few days later a buddy bought a silver birch 04 marauder that needed doors.
Mentioned to him that they should still be there, and he was set back 90.00 and just needed to repaint a little and they were rust free.

Some times you just fall into luck

Appreciate the clarity, just called the dealer for a price on an OEM replacement and he said $350, primed...Was considering an aftermarket fender as mine has a couple dents in it. Learned the hard way to not hang the creeper on the wall next to the car...Looks like junkyard time for rust/damage free OEM options. Wonder if I told the dealer it was for a MGM/CV the price would've been different?

I got my aftermarket fender to fit better than the original oem one. Now I have to go to the passenger side and mess with it until it lines up as good as the drivers side. OCD is a horrible thing....

Yes, it came dented but I was able to fix it. Junkyard fenders are that much closer to rusting out like I am seeing in ever increasing numbers these days.

I didn't say it was. I said I got the aftermarket fender I bought to fit better than oem. Because Ford fit and finish sucks.

you have the exception then, as most all previous posts say aftermarket sucks, so maybe the op can try your find.

It was a b**** but I got it very close.

I would say this fender is very nice quality. Heavy, like oem. Aftermarket hoods weigh at least 1/3 less. Glad I went to the bone yard for that.
