The JRI coilovers (https://www.jrishocks.com/shop/street/pro-touring-shocks/) and separate smartphone JRide (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_HzfEYaUNFs) unit require a custom mount made. So, KC of BRG Racing used one of his favorite toys: a portable coordinate measuring machine (CMM).
The tech measures the mounting holes and distances around the area to create on the CAD program a cylinder mount, which is used with a CnC KC owns to cut out of a solid block of 7075 aluminum. I will share the picture of the mounting scheme later.

I'm still confused why the factory mounts aren't adequate. I guess I'll see soon enough. I see a spherical rod end on the upper, presuming that is the front shock on the table. Factory is just a threaded shaft.

The stock mount will not work with most aftermarket performance shocks. Thus, a custom mount must be made. On the table is a the shock with the JRide controller in red tied together with bi-directional hi psi hoses.

stock front mount works fine for coilovers, My ridetech's fit and ride fine and have adjustment capabilities. stock rear mounts not designed for load bearing.

I thought JRI was going to match the stock shaft threads in order to retain stock travel.

Agreed and Ridetech are good coilovers. Coilovers such as those below are not designed for Mercury Marauders and will need customer mounting.

The ridetechs come with a mount designed for panther chassis that mounts to stock shock tower. I don't need $8k shocks and $2k+ custom mounts.

Glad you are happy with what you have. Now let me do the same.

Cant wait to see the finished product. I hope you enjoy the new system.
I really wish more companies would build aftermarket parts for these cars but it looks like aside from a few, we are alone to build our own stuff.

Thank you. They simply did not make enough Marauders for enough years to support the parts business. But, where there is a will, there is a way.

I agree.....Over the top build!!
:hmmm: ...but I do want to know the total outlay when your Marauder is complete!
(I bet you could have bought a FORD GT instead)

Can a Marauder hold its own on the track with a Lamborgini?
To make a short story long I own an 04 DTR Marauder. It has had all the Dennis, Zack/Mac majic done to it. In the past 2 years it has won 3rd then 2nd place in the All Ford Nationals at Carlisle, PA.
I am a member of the Eastern Pantera Club. We co sponsor a track event at Pocono International Raceway yearly with various other Italian Car Clubs such as Lamborgini, Maserati, and Ferrari. Since my Pantera is in pieces I asked and was permitted to bring the Marauder to the track to run. As I stated in a post a while back I am not a drag racer. I use my car every day and in the snow so I opted for a centrifigul vs. roots type supercharger. I have not changed my rear end ratio. I do however like to run in track events.
Well I lined up to run with 19 other cars, all newer model Italian high performance exotic cars. We run NASCAR wise, counter clockwise. We used turn 1, turn 2, then an infield course that has a 270, three 90's, two 75 degree turns and a chicane, then we enter back onto the main staight with 2/3 of that straight available before turn 1.
Well boys and girls I have to tell you after 5 laps everyone in attendance was looking at this Canadian maufactured, Dearborn Sedan. It ate cars like it was at an Italian buffet. Not only did the Marauder hold it's own on the banked turns it passed most and stayed with the best of them in the infield. Comming out of the infield onto the main straight I devoured them. The available touque was awsome. I ran with the antilock brakes and overdrive off. Down the straight going into turn one, 135 mph+ easy. 130 mph+ into turn 2 and an average speed through the infield of 60+ mph.
The transmission mods worked great, that baby knew when to down shift upon hard braking. The supercharger spun up smoothly so the ass end never kicked out. Dennis's total package and the Zack/Mac control arms worked flawlessly.
After I came off the track nearly everone came over to see the car. Most of these folks told me they thought it was a joke putting the DTR on the track against these 6 figure cars. On day two I repeated the same results. No fluke.
A lot of exotic car owners have a new found respect for our "Family Sedans / Cop Cars". Needless to say I had a blast.
Sorry for the long story but I just had to brag a little. Enjoy your Marauders they are all special.

Thank you for sharing. A car with the right mods/setup/design can compete against 6 figure cars. The 2019 Corvette ZR1 can hand with $1M cars.

My thoughts exactly. I am not trying to take away from what others have done, best them or stand out. I am building my ride the way I want.

You are correct, i could have bought a Ford GT or a Ferrari, Lambo, 2019 Corvette ZR1 or any number of other 6 figure cars. I wanted to make my Marauder my dream car.

The rear shocks and coils are installed - as separates. BRG Racing notched the frame to hold the Ride Control units. Until I put an independent rear end suspension on the Marauder, no coilovers for the rear.

The front JRi coilovers require a custom mount be made to accommodate the JRI Ride Control module.

No kidding! [emoji15]
They couldn’t come up with a bracket on the inside of the frame?? Hope you don’t get rear ended!

They could have put them in the trunk. Looks like the aluminum plates are bolted through the frame rails. I've done my share of fabricating over the years and never would have done this.
I think the OP kept coming to them with crazy ideas saying "just do it" sooner or later they grew fatigued and just did it!

MO's Speed Shop has a lot of current business in queue: at least 30 day wait. After my car arrives, 30 days later'ish work begins on my car. With Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays and all the work left to be done, I do not expect my car back until TBD 2019. It make sense for Marty to keep the car and show it back East and South at various car shows.
Summary: Fly to Georgia or wait until TBD 2019 to see it in CA.

The JRi 150 psi lines cannot be longer than 12" or response time is adversely affected. So, mounting in the trunk is too far away.
The plates you suspect to be aluminum are high strength stainless steel. As such, the frame is now 'supposed to be' stronger than stock. If Marty believes otherwise, he will change the mounting scheme and do whatever it takes to reinforce the frame to be bulletproof/safe.

Did they do a clear anodize on all of your aluminum so it doesn’t oxidize and look like spilt $h it in a few years?
Lowndex
09-19-2018, 02:58 PM
Yes, all aluminum parts must be anodized, clear or whatever color I select. But this will now fall to Marty. No delay getting the car to Marty. Enough is enough.
