View Full Version : A couple of things

Hey all

Been wanting to address a couple of minor annoyances on the Marauder, but have not had luck with some of them.

1. Attached is a pic of the front bumper. The obvious thing is where someone backed into the car with a tow hitch ...:mad2: . That is not being fixed at this time. The second thing to notice is the small hole in the bumper The other three holes are filled with a plug. This one decided to that it no longer wanted to part of the Marauder and jumped ... Ford does not have a part number for them. I have been to a couple of local parts stores and they have nothing like these. Does anyone have an idea of where these came from and/or where to get another one?

2. My headlights come on after the car is washed. I can not located the thread on here telling me how to address that. I already had the LCM fixed, before I had an issue, so I do not believe it is that.

3. And lastly, my heated seats do not work. The fuse is good, the buttons get power. Does anyone have the wiring diagram for the heated seats? I would love to start tracing those wires to see what I can find. Maybe I will get lucky and find a chaffed wire, or a disconnected wire somewhere.

Thanks!
Anthony

It gets dark in the car wash. Is the headlight switch in the AUTO position?

Those are just plastic push pins that were painted.

Sounds like the heating elements in the seats just plain wore out of you have power.

Not dark when you wash the car in the driveway ... and no, I do not use the Auto Switch. I wish it were that simple.

I know they are plastic pins ... but I can not find them. The ones RubberCity might work, but expensive is right. $28 for two of them, though I guess they do come painted.

And the seating elements are probably worn out, but was hoping to see a wiring diagram to see if I could find something simpler ... Kinda like my Ford Tractor that died recently Classic symptoms of the injector pump failing. Those are very expensive to repair. As we ran the wires, and took a look, we found where a mouse had chewed through a wire - fixed wire, injector pump now has power and works. Much cheaper!

$28.00 for 2 painted plastic pins is absurd!!:mad2:

Bumper - get plastic push rivets, plastic adhesion promoter and paint.

Headlights - check the harness at the left front under the headlight, known problem area.

Heated seats - check the relay in the BJB (Battery Junction Box) under the hood and behind the battery. Try swapping it out wwit j a known good one. Check under the seats, make sure the connectors are tight..

On your headlights cone on take it back to Ford dealership or Lincoln Mercury I have a friend that change up is LCM 3 times as the only recall on the marotta normally the lights would go off at night, mind was foibgvthe same and I paid to hsve it change 2 month's later I get a letter about the LCM, I went back to Ford dealership they had to check the numbers and it didn't match so they had to order a replacement LCM and I had to sent paper's to Ford in the mainland to get all my refund back and I did get it back, the plugs look like the plugs in the trunk under the carpet on the left and right side it just push in and Ford and Make a Mercury has those they don't cost that much

Have the holes filled and painted when you get the damage repaired.

Thank you for your input. I already had the LCM replaced, no by Ford. All they are doing is giving you the same defective (will fail again) part, so I had it fixed by a member here so that it will never fail again.

As for this post, per your profile, you have been on this earth long enough to write in proper English. The post I have quoted lacks most of what English speaking folks would consider, grammar. There is not one period in the 143 words that your typed. That is either one really long run on sentence, or you missed typed several times. Then there are the several typos ... now I can not judge those, as I have issues as well.

Your several blank posts in this thread alone indicate that you might not be as computer proficient as others in this thread and active on this board. I can not help with that. What I can do is share with you that you need to thicken up your skin if you are going to venture into the world of the internet, and forums.

We are a helpful bunch of people, as evident in this thread. We are also a bunch of people who do not respond well when you wish that our eyeballs pop out of our head, go out the window and then get run over by another car. Now me, I laugh at that thought - it was a good image. Others, may take offense that you call us F????, which I can only interpret as word that is not allowed by the FCC on the airways and several of us may consider it offensive.

So I will conclude this little note to you. First welcome to the forum. Second, grow a thicker skin if you want to be part of the internet forums. Third, if you can not, I do not see you lasting very long on this forum, or any forum.

I wish! I need to keep the holes in case a California Law Enforcement ever cites me for not have a front license plate on the car ... I like the clean look, but California requires that you have a front plate. I will have to plus it.

I was guessing on the car wash. Sheesh.

Put black push pins in it and call it a day.
