Hey guys quick scenario I want to throw at you guys. This morning went to work no problem. I work about three miles down the road. When I punched out and started the car white smoke came the exhaust. I paused and went hmmmm. Went down the road to supermarket was there about an hour and the MM took three times to start. It turned over but did not start. She is bone stock, every 3 months oil is changed had a tune up when I first got it February 2015 with 155k now she is at 173k daily driver and don't dog her. Where should I start trouble shooting?? Your feed back is appreciated.

I didn't try, usually I just turn the key. I just checked the oil, level on point and clean.

I was going to say it might be flooded. Ive seen a few MM when the temp changes they dont start well. Id say it was GREY smoke, and was extra fuel.
IF it happens again, turn key on floor the gas pedal, it shuts off the injectors. Crank for a bit, shut off the key, and wait 2-3 seconds, then start normal. Gas pedal floored it should not start.
Then it wont happen till next spring. Try it.

Black smoke is usually too much gas, like flooded. White smoke is usually water. Check cooling reservoir. If it is low, it could be the start of a head gasket issue.

Black smoke is too rich with the engine running
Light Grey smoke is raw fuel not burned, I just dealt with a MM with this issue last week
Op. Pull The spark plugs,if it has white crustys in it, it's burning coolant. Which I highly doubt is your issue
Hope it's a easy fix :)
