View Full Version : Trunk release activates with door unlock button

I have a 300a that randomly had all of the door locks/ddm stop working. It had a corroded wire in the passenger inner fender which I repair. Now all DDM functions work as they should except the trunk release will activate when locking/unlocking the doors approximately 50% of the time. I've tried different DDMs and a different LCM with the same outcome. Does anybody have any wiring diagrams for the trunk release/ddm for grounds or common wiring points that could cause this? I've already checked the wiring in the drivers door/door jam and found no problems.

Does the issue happen only with the door lock/unlock switches or does it happen with the keypad and/or the fob as well?

It happens with the fob as well. The DDM has 2 trunk release outputs. One is putting out a small amount of power and causing the trunk to open. I've tried cleaning all grounds on both kick panels multiple times. It has me stumped.

change the code on the door pad.

change the code on the door pad.
When I swap to a different DDM, the code is already switched (using the code from the new DDM) and the car does the same thing.

Run a new wire from the trunk release to the DDM, do not use the OEM wire at all.
Isolating the power wire will fix it
