When installing these I read on a few old threads you needed to fab up mounting sleeves. I also seen that QA1sales mounting sleeve kits. Just trying to make heads and tales on exactly whats needed before i install mine. Any tips would be appreciated.

Here is the rear QA1 on the turbo Car you can use the stock lower shock bolt I used a couple of stainless bolts and a washer on each side of the shock bushing from Ace hardware to space the lower mount works perfectly!

I read that guys had to use a different sleeve or some sorts. So only two washers are needed to make it work?

First thing is to insert the steel sleeve into the urethane bushing that QA1 provides (there are two provided with the shock but the correct one for your car will be obvious) use two washers one on each side of the bushing to protect it , then two stainless bolts that slide over the shock bolt and space the shock on the lower mount its very straight forward and easy to do.

One other thing by placing the stainless "NUTS" on the outside of each shock your moving the shock body slightly inboard to get more clearance for 305 drag radials on widened wheels with absolutely no rubbing!

Are these upgrade for factory or just replacement for space for wider rears?

It’s actually for another ford vehicle.. it’s a mustang s197 05-14 rear kit, made by upr products.
Run the 175 or 200lb springs..

Hmmm. Not bad, but in my opinion (not knocking what you've done, mind you) the acme thread should be a hollow tube, and I would rather stick with a spring pigtail that mates with the factory crossmember upper end.
Here is another option for a threaded adjuster (https://www.speedwaymotors.com/AFCO-Adjustable-Spring-Spacer,49203.html).

If you look at measurements.. those won’t work with a factory spring.. those are designed for 5” or 5.5” diameter springs. I had those on my fox.. before it went coilover..
The there is always maximum Motorsports rear kit that bolts in.. sits on top of the factory perch, and bolts in..
Personally a true rear coilover is a much better way to go.. but ehh

You are correct, I had custom springs made to 275lbs, so they have the factory pigtail on top and standard flat-ground 5" diameter on the bottom.
The Marauder outboard shocks are great for wheel control, but they don't leave room for a coilover spring. You would have to move the coilover inboard of the frame rail to fit, losing the shock-at-the-wheel direct action. So in inboard coilover would be at a performance disadvantage in this configuration, compared to the factory outboard mount.

Actually... I run a true rear coilover on my daily.. and run 275/40/17 all the time.. and 275/40/17 Hoosiers r7/a7 for weekend track/auto cross.. there is plenty of room for a coilover.. it required a few.. mods to work.. but works rather well..

Post pics and/or details, then. I run the 20" wheels/tires in my sig and fit Penske 7500DA in the stock rear mounts, but there is definitely no room for coilover springs.
Maybe you're running narrow wheels with those wide tires?

Interesting, thanks. There is only so much room to fit both shock and wheel, no miracles here. More shock = less wheel. Do your tires fit under the fender lip, or is a minimum ride height required to prevent tire rubbing?

They fit under the fender lips, they did require rolling/ minor flaring and the cars ride height is very low..
