Hello everyone I’m new to the marauder I’ve just purchased my first one, never had one before just grand marquis(92) and a (93) and (03) crown vic . So when I first start up my marauder a cloud of white smoke comes out of the exhaust I didn’t see any of that when I test drove it and I’ve had it for 4 days now and I see the smoke every time I start it up it’s a little thicker in the mornings than thru out the day it runs fine everything seems fine but I’m just really concerned about the smoke. Can someone please help me and tell me what it can be and if it’ll be expensive to fix? Thank you so much and thank you admin for accepting me I’m so excited to have joined the marauder family!

White smoke is usually water vapor and these cars make a lot of it. If your seeing it when the car is warm especially in your climate it could be indicative a of coolant leak somewhere that is getting into the combustion chamber. I'll let the more knowledgeable mechanic types chime in on possible cause.

Welcome aboard.

Check out the similar threads at the bottom of this page and you'll see that this has been going on since 2002. I don't think its nothing to worry about from what I have read. Both Marauders I have owned have done it ocassionally. I have had my recent Marauder for only 6 months and have only seen it smoke once on start up. I also had some rusty condensation dripping out the pipes a few weeks back. I attribute this to the car sitting all winter with moisture in the exhaust. Took it for a quick ride, parked it at the end of the driveway on an angle and gave it a few good revs and it seems to have all blown out.

Welcome and Congratulations! Yes, this seems to be something that is quite common with the MMs. You can always check for any leaks just to be safe. You will find these cars are unique. Take some time to read through the multiple threads on this site and ask as many questions as you like. You will find a wealth of information to keep your car running for a long time.

I have several Marauders and they all smoke to some degree or another at startup. Sometimes not at all. It just depends on weather and if it has sat awhile.

Mine does that on occasion. Mostly after sitting for days. From what I've heard here its pretty normal for our cars and doesn't do any harm. I heard it can be fixed but isn't usually worth the $. Used to be embarassing though to be at United Airlines day or Fab Fords and start it up to a big puff of smoke. lol
