Mercury Key blanks

Are the Mercury key blanks still available? Previous owner stated he only had one key and fob plus the valet key. Also, is there a service where we can get reproductions of the original window stickers?

The Mercury blanks were easy enough to find - ordering two shortly. Reproduction window stickers are another issue - Neither Marti or Ford Direct have them. I'll keep looking - thanks for the tips.

I bought a few keys off of ebay - one of them does not always work. Sometimes I need to take the key out and insert it upside down. Not sure if that is a cheapo key problem or just an anomaly.

I like the idea of an underhood lamp. Back in 1988, I bought my 1st Ranger, a loaded XLT. I fully expected it to have an underhood lamp as the loaded '87s had them. The plug was still in the engine compartment and the hole was still drilled into the underside of the hood once you located and cut out the underhood insulation in the correct location. Lamp assembly was available through the parts department - purchased and installed same shortly after taking delivery.

If I remember correctly, a few MMs produced in mid-2003 for the 2004 year did have a "mix" of options from both years.

all your options are '04 except the Full Sized Spare which was probably added by a previous owner, '04s had mini spare.

Those items are normal for a 04, except someone added a full size spare

Side note, once done. Just sit there for 10-20 seconds until its timed out and it will hold the new fob, this way you have multiple fobs.

Damn thats a good deal!

Ace Hardware charged me $20.00 to cut the key. My regular mechanic doesn't do any key/fob programming so I went to the local dealer. The key programmed correctly but the fob was incompatible with my car. New one is $55 through the dealer. $105 to program the new key and the incoming fob.

Original fob has all kinds of info on the back while the replacement through eBay is completely blank. Contacting the vendor shortly.

Thanks for this. Ritchie replied; sending him my info to make a window sticker reproduction. Verified the original selling dealer - they verified the original buyer was a woman and the town where she lived. I will go out and look at the spare tire/wheel later - has carpeted cover over it.
