View Full Version : Cold Air Induction...

Another point...ALL the ricers are doing it
so why can't someone come up with a Marauder
cold air induction system?
I am aware of the K&N and the PHP projects...
and also aware that they both offer little real
benefits...
What I am looking for, even if I have to make it
myself, is an aluminum tube (the same diameter
as the current air intake) that would snake across
the front of the car and get mounted behind the
grille (then, with an K&N filter you might get real
performance number increases)...
Who can do this?
Who can advise?

P.S. at least I am posting about MARAUDER RELATED STUFF : P

Tell me
Tell me
before I fall for some marketing gimmick and
buy the first good looking air filter kit that
I see for the Marauder...
It would be nice to get real numbers for horsepower
and torque gains IF ANY and at what RPMs
There are too many secret projects out there!
What kit/project do you know about that you aren't saying!?

Because the Marauder already has the lowest restriction and highest flow of any naturally aspirated FoMoCo vehicle ever, I don't think you get any real seat-of-the pants increases in power from this mod. Unless a system is professionally engineered by those who know how air reacts in a vacume, any changes in the intake system will probably net you nothing.

Cruztaker has already proved that there was no HP gain with one system. In fact, he stated he had a slight decrease in HP on the dyno. He thought that there might be a slight gain on et's at the track, but has not yet proved this out........

The only way to increase air flow is through a S/C. LOL, I'm saving my pennies.

It took me a while Paul, but I get it now!!
Listen to this man, he is wiser than you know, very good advice!

search on the internet for inexpensive (or ELECTRIC) superchargers...there were several noteworthy attempts to produce boost with simple fans (bilge blowers!)
and even an electric supercharger (that requires several batteries!)...
I think I gave up on that pursuit...until I decide to put up with $7000 for a supercharger...
however, it seems reasonable to run a large diameter aluminum pipe from the
OEM intake (near the injectors) to behind the front bumper (in front of the radiator)...the faster you go the more air you inject...
Can ZACK or anyone fabricate such a contraption? Where is Rube Goldberg when you need him? I am willing to be guinea pig for such a project and provide funds for time, resources, materials...

P.S. I remember how a K&N filter and all synthetic fluids (Amsoil) done all at once made my old Grand Marquis from 1992 a relatively fun car to drive...noticeable acceleration difference:stupid:

Look on the Metco forum here...they're working on one as well.
