I think my rack is bad. Had the car aligned this past week back out a parking spot with the wheel on full lock to the right. Turned back to the left moving forward and there was a clunk and now my steering wheel is crooked. Alignment still seems good and tracks straight. Does this sound like a bad rack? If not any help would be appreciated.

Have heard popping sounds ever since and wheel has slowly turned back to the left. Car still rides straight. Brought it back up to the shop and they said it sounded like the rack. Haven't been back yet.

The popping noise is from the outer tie rods.
I had it until I replaced them.
Your rack is bad if it's leaking and makes noise.
Mine blew up last week.
Had to purchase a remanufactured unit from Car-parts from Florida,
as the 2 remanufactured ones we got locally didn't work
Still waiting for it.

Brand new tie rods. Replaced everything but the inner rods, wheel bearings and springs.

Had it looked at. They don't believe it's the rack. Won't stay in alignment on the passenger side.
