View Full Version : Wanted To Buy Single Bolt Thump RRR Tensioner

I'm sure all the elders will tell me to swap to a 3-bolt tensioner cover but I'd like to try a Thump RRR single bolt first. P/N PM-1001-76. Looks like they don't make em anymore so I'm looking to see if anyone has one sitting on the shelf and would be willing to sell it. Please pm me if you do. Thanks in advance!

I'm not an elder buy my advise would be 3 bolt and an 8 rib setup

Thanks for your advise, and I agree with you. It's just that I don't have a belt slip issue at this point, but can't leave well enough alone. So i wanted to put a Thump RRR on just for a little piece of mind.

Dont waste your money! been there done that! Take Musclemercs advice and never look back!

I assume then that the Thump RRR single bolt is just as good as the stock tensioner? That would explain why they don't make it any more.

Its a good tensioner (better than stock) but with a Centri S/C its a nightmare and doesn't stop belt slip at high boost levels.

Gotcha. Is the nightmare the lack of tool acces to the tensioner to release the tension?

That and it still slips at high boost , but yeah its very difficult to access once the Centri is in place.

It’s not that expensive to make the swap. All the 8 rib stuff is stock.

I have a 3 bolt cover for cheap if you decide to do it right.

Thanks I'll keep that in mind. I've got all the 8 rib pulley p/n's saved in one of my RockAuto carts.
