I am pulling the 4r70w from my 03 Marauder. New torque converter, parking pall, and j mod to be done. While the transmission is out, I would like to freshen it up. Is there a recommended kit for clutches and steels? What else should I do while I’m in the transmission? I don’t have any crazy horsepower, but I do drive like a race car driver. What recommendations does everyone have on making this transmission bulletproof? Thanks in advance.

Don't manually shift them and don't do WOT runs with it in OD. member 88grandmarquis can most likely offer info for internals to upgrade

What’s bad about manual shifting?

I am curious to see how the parking pawl failed.

For stock power levels and daily driver use, a stock rebuild will work fine.

OEM frictions and steels are best - use a kit with Raysbestos clutches. do not use borg warner or alto clutches.

use one piece teflon sealing rings on the output shaft

replace the snap ring that holds the one way clutch to the reverse drum with an aftermarket spiral snap ring.

Thank you 88grandmarq. Your input is greatly appreciated and very helpful. I’ll post pics of the parking pawl as soon as I get that far. Thanks again.
