What is the easiest way to get to the flexplate for replacement on these cars? My thought is unbolt the engine and trans, unbolt the trans from it's mount, unbolt the driveshaft, and slide the transmission back a few inches. Does the body of the car allow for this? I just swapped my engine (broken bolts, long hours, nightmare) and I did not elect to put a new flexplate in at the time. Stupid mistake. It has a hairline crack that is the cause of my tick noise. Not looking forward to digging back on there, but I'm planning for it wiyhin the next few weeks.

Send me your experiences with getting to the flexplate. Thanks in advance.

You are essentially removing the trans but not bringing it to the floor.

Trans lines coming off? Crossmember?

i assume you just push the trans lines off to the side, and if you have never had the trans crossmember out of that car.... you are in for a treat! Grab a BFH

60” dig bar. One pry and done. NO biggie! Seriously, mine was out in 5 seconds after the bolts were removed.
