I need an air ride suspension control module, can anybody help me? Ford said it's discontinued. And if I have to what is the best springs to replace the air suspension. I'm looking at Suncore 40F-30-R Air Suspension Conversion Kit Incl. Rear Coil Springs Air Suspension Conversion Kit, but I really like the air ride and do not want to loose it...please help!

I need to know what is the actual air ride module currently on YOUR car. Open the glove box and drop it down, behind that is the module. Let me know what is the ford part number on the module on YOUR car.

Thanks
Bryan

I would try the boneyard and look for 03-05 MGM with air ride. Other models might be the same but not 100% sure. You be surprised what you might find... good luck

Thefatbastid is currently parting a marauder. Might still have the air ride module. And he's also in nj.

It turns out it was the FORD 8W1Z-5359-A - SENSOR that was separating. (Amazon $209 vs Ford wanted $328, they will let me bring them the part) I haven't seen it for myself, I'm going to Ford tomorrow to see. They took 2 days to find it. They said the bolts are real bad corroded on the control arm. They want total $700 labor, they already got me for $280 for the diagnostic if I take the car out of there. That's $909 with the part. I'll probably have them do it just out of convenience, I need the car back. I know that's brutal but I love the air ride and need it done right, I don't know I'll see tomorrow. Thanks for getting back to me.

Dude, pay the $280 and get your car out of there pronto. If they took 2 days to determine that the issue was the ride-height sensor, they are pretty bad. The sensor is very easy to replace yourself...only need an 8mm and a 10 mm socket. Get a second opinion on the control arms.

That scum bag mechanic is out to screw you!!
The sensor assy can be off in less than 5 minutes....

Most likely the ball fell off its mount and caused all of this, most likely it will just snap back on.

Remember when jacking the car up to shut off the air ride too

Often it is just the ball that falls off but many times once you snap it back in the spring holding it on loses its tension and it will pop back off eventually. I just found one on ebay for 80 bucks for my nephews Lincoln. exact same one as the MM and works fine - brand new. Ridiculous how much they want for what amounts to a thin light switch.

Mary's car had the ride-height sensor linkage fall off a couple of times until I determined that the rotating part of the sensor had bound up, making it hard to move, causing the linkage to pop off.

Took the car back from Ford yesterday, I asked them to put the car on the lift so I could see. They already popped it back on and everything was working fine, I paid the diagnostic charge and left. I'm waiting for the part (Amazon $80). I should have checked with you guys first, but in the end... YOU SAVED ME FROM BEING RIPPED OFF, so a BIG thanks to all who help. I got my hands full reviving my '84 MC SS, I am better than this, THANKS FOR WAKING ME UP. You guys are GOOD!
