I never park under a tree and my black MM has been pooped on more than my dark red CV ever was. What a pain to clean off. Anyboby else have this disgusting problem? Maybe it is only the black ones.

Because Texas is a "Concealed Carry" state I don't
think we have that problem here.

I park at school near where a large tree *formerly* stood. All the birds that formerly lit there (three or four years ago) started sitting on side mirrors of our cars.
Since it is a school, I couldn't even bring a pellet gun to go after them. Thankfully they have only crapped on the MM a couple times, or I would have to stake out the place with some real weapons and kill all of them.
Really. I *hate* :censor: :censor: birds. I love animals. I hate birds.

I had just recently completed 3 coats of quality wax on the black MM.
Yesterday I see two pea sized spots on the roof. I give it a scratch, it's sticky, and it's origin is revealed with the strong odor of pine.
I grab the the 3M swirlmark remover from the trunk, dab, rub, and wipe. It couldn't have been on the car more than a few hours, yey even over 3 coats of fresh wax, I now have two more permanent 'acid rain' marks.
No matter how much wax, bird poop and sap will eat this clearcoat almost immediately....sad, very sad....:(

I have a similar problem with the MM in my driveway. Seems i have a narcississtic red wingged blackbird that likes to look at him(her)self in the driver side mirror. I've tried folding the mirror in when i get home to no avail and my latest trick is to fold it in and wrap a towel around it yet every morning i still have a streak of excrement running down the door in the exact same spot by the mirror. I've seen him do it once and my wife let me park in the garage and sure as heck the bastage did the same thing with her car in the driveway.
I live in an unincorporated area so i may in the very near future catch this dirty rotten piece of ***** bird in the act and use the shotgun on him after he makes his morning deposit and gets far enough away from the vehicle.

I have also had a problem with birds sitting on the side mirrors and droppin the smash. I have two other cars, white and red and they never touch them. I have since waged war with a pellet gun and ordered a car cover. I have found them to be slightly less of a problem if I fold the mirrors in.

True. I was sitting outside with a salesguy in Longbeach for lunch one day. A seagull bombed him and the guy behind him. Stuff was all over their backs and splattered onto their food. We weren't hungry after that.

I too seem to be a target for bird poop and couldn't agree more about the weak protection of the clearcoat. My daily POS driver sits out all day long in the driveway or at work and rarely gets hit. When it does, it sits there all day baking but no impact on the paint. I'm constantly waxing or shining the MM and it rarely gets parked unprotected. As soon as it sticks its nose out of the garage, it seems like it gets hit. I carry speed wax in the trunk and wipe it off as quickly as possible but have still gotten "stains". Even buffing doesn't take it out AAARRRGHH!!!
